Christina Grimmie (March 12, 1994 – June 10, 2016) was an American YouTuber, guitarist, songwriter, and actress.

She started posting covers of famous songs on YouTube in 2009.

She gained one million followers on her YouTube channel after releasing her debut EP, Find Me (2011).

With Love (2013), she debuted her debut studio album after her YouTube channel hit two million viewers. Grimmie finished third in third place in 2014 as a contestant on season six of The Voice.

Adam Levine, the show's head coach, announced in the finale that despite the results, he would keep the show's name 222 Records.

Lil Wayne has also offered to join Young Money Entertainment, a wholly owned company.

She was signed to Island Records for a short time before being dropped. Grimmie's second EP, Side A, debuted in 2016. In the same year, she played an actor in The Matchbreaker for her first and only motion picture appearance.

Grimmie was fatally wounded in a murder-suicide by an insatisfied fan on June 10, 2016; the shooting took place while signing autographs following a concert performance at The Plaza Live in Orlando, Florida. Side B, a posthumous sequel to Side A, was released on Spotify and iTunes in 2017.

Personal life and activism

Grimmie was a Christian. Before heading to Los Angeles, her family attended Fellowship Alliance Chapel in Medford, New Jersey. Grimmie cited her mother, a three-time breast cancer survivor, as a major inspiration for her musical career. Tina Grimmie, Grimmie's mother, died on September 2, 2018, after a "courageous and brave fight against breast cancer" had been lost.

Grimmie was an animal rights campaigner who appeared in fundraising activities for the Human Rights Society of the United States. The Christina Grimmie Animal Medical Fund was established in her honour, and she received the "Impact Award" from the industry for her animal rights campaign. Christina Grimmie was born on March 12, 1994 in the Marlton section of Evesham Township, New Jersey, to Tina and Albert Grimmie. Her mother worked as a receptionist before being diagnosed with breast cancer; her father worked at Verizon Communications as of 2014. Marcus (who served as Christina's road manager during her appearances) was her older brother. Grimmie, who was of Italian and Romanian descent, grew up in Marlton, New Jersey, where she attended Bethel Baptist Christian School, Marlton Middle School, and Cherokee High School. Grimmie began posting videos on her YouTube channel in 2009, under the name zeldaxlove64.
