Christian De Sica Life

Christian De Sica (Italian pronunciation: [kristjan de sika]; born 5 January 1951) is an Italian actor and film director.

Life

De Sica was born in Rome as the second son of Italian director Vittorio De Sica and Spanish actor Mara Mercader. Ramón Mercader, Leon Trotsky's killer, was his first cousin who was once removed. De Sica worked in a Venezuela hotel where he began his career as an artist after attending the Liceo Classico in Rome, where he had Carlo Verdone as his deskmate. He enrolled in Lettere (Literature and Arts) at La Sapienza University (1970), but did not graduate.

He was attracted to music and performed "Mondo mio" ("My World") (1973). However, the findings convinced him not to follow in his father's footsteps and dedicate himself to acting. De Sica began his own style of comedy and entertainment in Rai television shows, including Bambole, non c'è una lira, which gained him a lot of fame in 1978.

Christian De Sica Career

Acting career

With his father's help, he was able to take his first steps in film with such teachers and mentors as Roberto Rossellini (Blaise Pascal, 1971), Pupi Avati (Bordella, 1976) and Salvatore Samperi (1979 Liquirizia and 1981 Casta e pura).

Silvia Verdone, Carlo's sister, with whom he had two children, Brando and Mariarosa, was married. Borotalco was born in the 1980s, and he and his brother-in-law Verdone were released together, later filming Sapore di Mare with Jerry Calà, Yuppies, Yuppies 2, Compagni di Scuola and Compagni di Scuola.

Christian De Sica, the last film starring Sergio Corbucci, became one of the most well-known interpreters of the "cine panettone" (comedies that reach movie theatres during the holiday season), and came from a 2005-to-date relationship with actor Massimo Boldi. They appeared in a series of Vacanze di Natale and A spasso nel ritmo (1996), Paparazzi (1999), Tifosi (1999) and Christmas in Love (2004). Their films had grossed 300 billion lire ($150 million) by 2002. Later, he appeared in Natale a New York (2006), Natale in crociera (2007), and Natale a Rio (2008). These films, which were shot in burlesque style, are generally well received at the box office, if not by analysts, and they have even exceeded outstripping more well-known and expensively made films, such as the Harry Potter series.

De Sica has received three David di Donatello awards, one for Giovannino in 1976, a special one with Massimo Boldi in 2000, and the third in 2009.

In 2016, he was given the America Award of the Italy-USA Foundation.

Directing career

Christian De Sica has been a filmmaker since 1990: he appeared in Faccione, whose script he wrote and tailor-made for actress Nadia Rinaldi. After Count Max's (1996), Simpatici & Antipatici (1998), and The Clan (2005), De Sica, a tribute to his father's cinema and Mario Camerini's, De Sica began interpreting with Ornella Muti, Anita Ekberg, and his mother Maria Mercader.

Frank Sinatra's greatest admirer, as well as Marlon Brando's, he named his first child Brando in honor of the American actor. His behavior has often compared to that of Alberto Sordi, from whom De Sica has a lot of his expressions.
