She has also appeared in Seinfeld, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and CSI: Miami.
She appeared in the TBS (formerly ABC) sitcom Cougar Town, which was also created by Lawrence from 2009 to 2015.
Early life
Miller was born in Manhattan, New York City, and attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart. She is the niece of actress Susan Saint James and NBC Sports executive Dick Ebersol, as well as Bonnie Trompeter's niece. Leona and John are her sister and brother.
After an operation for a benign bone tumor, her days as a child model were cut off. After attending Convent of the Sacred Heart, she returned to modeling for a brief period of time, but before that, she began acting lessons and stopped modeling when she moved to Los Angeles in 1990. In the first American edition of Maxim, she was a cover model and had a pictorial.

Career
Miller's first appearance on television was in Kate & Allie, which starred her real-life aunt, Susan Saint James, whom she resembles. She appeared in episodes of Northern Exposure, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and Party of Five. Priscilla Barnes played a small part in Stepfather III (1992). Miller later appeared on Seinfeld as two separate characters. She appeared in the 1993 episode "The Sniffing Accountant" as George Costanza's prospective manager. Miller had intended to be a dramatic actress, but this role was a turning point for the actress, who discovered how much she loved comedy. Paula, George's mother, appeared in "The Doodle" two years later to play George's daughter, Seinfeld. This episode was a boon to her career as she convinced co-creator Larry David to provide her with a rough-cut video of the still-unaired episode during her audition for The Drew Carey Show, although their producers had hoped she was too inexperienced. Miller defeated The Drew Carey Show's producers, who portrayed her as Kate O'Brien, who appeared on stage from 1995 to 2002, thanks to David's help.
Bill Lawrence, Miller's husband, writer-producer Bill Lawrence, created Scrubs, a new comedy drama. Jordan Sullivan, the acerbic ex-wife of Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley), was given a guest appearance as Dr. Cox's (John C. McGinley). Originally, the character was supposed to appear in only one episode, but in season 2, the role was recurring. Scrubs dedicated "My Lucky Charm" to her younger cousin Teddy Ebersol, son of Susan St. James and Dick Ebersol, who died in a plane crash in 2004, when she was 14 years old. In the short-lived animated film Clone High, Miller was also the voice of Cleopatra. She played a key role in the 2008 television miniseries The Andromeda Strain. She appeared in the CSI: Miami episode Divorce Party.
Miller began acting on Cougar Town, a comedy written and produced by her husband and starring Courteney Cox, with whom Miller appeared in a three-part story arc of season 8 of Scrubs.
