Chris Robshaw Career

Club career

Robshaw made his Premiership debut in the London double header at the start of the 2007–2008 season. He went on to be in the England Saxons squad that lifted the Churchill Cup in the summer of 2008.

Robshaw was the first team and club vice captain of Harlequins in the 2014-15 season; he resigned from the captaincy to Joe Marler in order to refocus on his duties as England captain from 2014-2015. Robshaw has been named Aviva Premiership Player of the Year twice, first winning following the 2008/9 season and then again in 2011/12, Harlequins' title-winning campaign. In Harlequins' 2011-12 Premiership final victory over Leicester Tigers, he got off and scored a try.

Robshaw will remain with Harlequins through the remainder of the 2019-20 season, according to the paper in June 2020.

He was a member of San Diego Legion in Major League Rugby from 2021 to 2022.

On October 21, 2022, he declared his resignation.

International career

Robshaw played for England Schools Under 18 (January) during 2004, before making his First XV debut in 2005–2006; scoring two goals in the 42–3 victory over the Pertemps Bees at The Stoop.

He was also a member of the England Under 21 team, which represented the country Under 21 team and the 2006 Under 21 Rugby World Championship.

Robshaw, according to Will Greenwood, who was fighting for a spot on the forthcoming Lions tour to South Africa, as a 'uncapped' Lion. Richard Hill, a World Cup-winning blindside flanker, was also compared by Greenwood to World Cup-winning blindside flanker Robshaw.

Robshaw was named in the England squad on May 19th, 2009, to play the Barbarians and Argentina. He was involved in a humiliation suffered by the Barbarians. In the return match against the Argentines in Salta, Argentina, Robshaw later called James Haskell into the starting lineup, winning his first cap in a Test match loss to Argentina.

Due to a knee injury sustained by Tom Croft, he was recalled into the England EPS Squad on January 25, 2010.

Despite impressing in the training camp, Robshaw was not selected for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

Despite only recently obtaining a single cap, Robshaw was named England captain for the first two games of the 2012 Six Nations in January 2012. He went on to captain England throughout the remainder of the tournament, which included a clean sweep of away victories at Scotland, Italy, and France, as well as a narrow loss to eventual Grand Slam winners Wales in Twickenham. He was retained as the captain of the England team despite losing to South Africa in which he played just two tests after fracturing his thumb. Despite setbacks against Australia and South Africa, Robshaw led his team to victory over New Zealand at the end of 2012.

In England's 20-13 victory over Australia on Tuesday, he scored his first Test try. In a 511 win over Italy, his second attempt was his second try. This was England's last game in the 2014 RBS Six Nations.

Robshaw was retained as captain of the 2015 Six Nations Championship and spent every minute of England's campaign. England defeated Wales 21-16, with the captain making a mammoth 26 tackles as he was widely praised for his captaincy. However, Robshaw was involved in a standoff in the Millennium Stadium tunnel, refusing to move his team out only to be left in the cold by the Welsh. However, England fell agonisingly short of the title on the final day of the championship, defeating France 55-35, but not needing to win by 27 points. England finished second in a row under Robshaw and coach Stuart Lancaster's leadership.

Robshaw's disappointing showing at the 2015 Rugby World Cup in January 2016 to hooker Dylan Hartley, but he kept his position as a starter, being switched to blindside flanker. In the three-test series, England triumphed the Grand Slam in 2016 and then toured Australia, whitewashing the Wallabies. Robshaw earned his 50th test cap and he played for Man of the Match as he helped England beat England by 23-7 in the second test.

Robshaw continued to play a key role in England's triumphant 2017 6 Nations campaign, but he missed England's triumphant 2017 6 Nations campaign due to injury, he was part of a much-experienced team that toured Argentina in 2017 - winning the series 2-0-captained the team and captained the team for the final time in the fall internationals that year. In winning the final test, Robshaw appeared in his last test for England on the 2018 tour to South Africa.

Robshaw was forced to leave the squad by the time of the 2019 Rugby World Cup due to injuries suffered during the 2018-19 season, as well as the arrival of Mark Wilson, Tom Curry, and Sam Underhill.

He finished his international career having earned all 66 of his international caps. Only Rory Underwood and Will Carling got off to a better start for England than anyone else. He completed his career with the second-most England appearances as captain (43) behind Carling (59), but he is still the all-time champion of the Professional era.

Robshaw had been selected in the Barbarians Squad to face England on October 25th in a warm-up match before the return of the delayed 2019-20 Nations season.

Unfortunately, 12 members of the Barbarians squad, as well as Chris Robshaw, were found to have violated Covid-19 rules. Following an attempt to bring these squad members back to the squad and maintain the fixture, a new violation of the protocols was discovered, resulting in the complete cancellation of the fixture.

Christine McGuinness attended the star-studded Butterfly Ball to benefit charity Caudwell Children. She looked nothing less than sensational in a white satin gown. The model wore a short wrap skirt at the front, before cascading down into a majestic long train. At the party held in Waddesdon Manor, the mother-of-three stepped up her profile in a pair of soaring heels and accessorized with a pair of dazzling drop earrings.

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: The hacked off head of a stolen statue has been found in the Earl of Pembroke's home

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 2, 2023
RICHARD EDEN: The head in question was raised from a mercifully inanimate body: that of a majestic marble statue of Bonus Eventus, Roman god of good fortune. It had been 6ft 6in tall before decapitation. And, it had been at Wilton for more than 20 years before being sold by the 15th Earl of Pembroke in 1961, the 8th Earl's demise in the 1700s. The police in Rome have been alerted by the city's distraught owners. However, the guy who cut off the head was never arrested; nor did the owners, the same family that bought it from Wilton, have any idea of the head's whereabouts. Until now.
