Christopher Gascoyne (born 31 January 1968) is an English actor best known for his role as the seventh Peter Barlow in Coronation Street since 2000.

Early life
Gascoyne was born in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, on January 31. He was married to Marian and Derrick Gascoyne. He attended Ashfield School, Kirkby, Ashfield. Gascoyne studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Personal life
Gascoyne and his partner, actress Caroline Harding, live in Chorlton, Manchester. They have three children.
Gascoyne's driving record was suspended for 12 months and was fined £500 after traffic officers arrested him for a year because of the illegal drink drive limit. Gascoyne competed in the Alzheimer's Society's Great Manchester Run in May 2010 because his grandmother had been suffering from the disease.

Career
Murphy's Mob was one of his early roles as Juddd on Central TV's children's show. Gascoyne has appeared in several television dramas, including the Central Television series for schools Starting Out, which was released in 1988. He has appeared in Between the Lines and appeared in Murdoch Mysteries as David Jennings. Gascoyne has also earned another one of his credits for his appearance in Casualty. Barry Kent's appearance in The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole and as Fusilier Tony Rossi in Soldier Soldier were two other appearances.
In Coronation Street, Gascoyne was cast as Peter Barlow, the seventh actor to play the role. He appeared between 2000 and 2003 before returning to 2007 for a brief period. Gascoyne appeared on BBC drama New Street Law in 2005 during his absence after leaving in 2003 as Al Ware. He returned to television on a permanent basis the following year, making his on-screen debut on October 30, 2008. Gascoyne took a four-month break in July 2012 before he resigned at the end of his deal in November 2014. Following Anne Kirkbride's death, he returned briefly in 2015, with Gascoyne saying, "Coming back was like a healing process, we chuckled a lot." In October 2016, he returned on a permanent basis.
