Cheryl Fergison has revealed she self-harmed for years as she struggled to come to terms with having womb cancer.  The actress, 58, who played Heather Trott on BBC soap EastEnders, revealed back in April she was diagnosed with stage two cancer in 2015 and had a hysterectomy.  Cheryl, who received the all-clear last year, was told to be mindful of any unusual symptoms in case any cancer cells remained but this instruction from her doctors sparked obsessive behaviour.

Last month, the actress, 58, who played Heather Trot on the BBC soap, opened up about having been diagnosed with womb cancer in 2015. Cheryl received the all-clear last year - and has since revealed that she kept her cancer diagnosis quiet in part due to a concern about losing work and income. On Sunday, Cheryl was pictured with her husband of 12 years Yassine, who is 20 years her junior, as they headed out to a Chinese restaurant in Thorton-Cleverleys, Blackpool. Cheryl and Yassine, 38, looked content as they arrived at Great Fortune House Chinese with a celebration cake in hand.

Cheryl Fergison's toyboy husband Yassine Al-Jemoni made a rare TV appearance on Loose Women on Wednesday.  The actress, 58, was supported by Yassine, 38, and her son Alex, 24, from the live studio audience as she spoke about the moment she was diagnosed with womb cancer.  Cheryl received the diagnosis back in 2015, and felt sad that 'any thought of having a child together had been taken away'.
