Career
Ricardo, a dentist, began painting his face so that children would not be afraid of him when he worked on their teeth. He became well-known when he was interviewed on a local television station. In Spanish, Cepilln means "little (tooth) Brush (while "cepillo" refers specifically to "brush," the origin of the term suggests it is actually refers to a toothbrush).
He had a show called El Show de Cepilln, which was in 1977, and with Televisa. This was an educational, comedic, and interview show with guests like Lou Ferrigno (who appeared on the famous TV show Hulk). The performance in Mexico, Chile, and Puerto Rico made a huge success. He has arguably been Mexico's most popular clown, as well as Latin America. His show was broadcast in more than 18 countries.
Cepilln has released 27 long play albums of children's songs, 11 of which have gone gold. All in all, they have sold more than 25 million copies around the world. La feria de Cepilln (Cepilln's Fair), Tomás ("Thomas"), En el bosque de la China ("In China's wood") and La Gallina Cocoua were among the most famous songs. Cepill also assisted younger artists in their films Milagro en el circo ("Miracle in the circus") and Salma Hayek, to whom he introduced the opportunity to perform in the magnificent Aladdin as Jasmine.
On Channel 5 of Televisa, Cepilln had another show in 1987 named Una sonrisa con Cepilln.
In 1990, he returned to Monterrey for Sábados con Cepilln, which starred his sons Ripi González Jr. (Cepi) and Roberto González (′′Franky»). Cepilln live for Multimedios Television in 2006. He toured Mexico and the United States from 1982 to 2006 with a circus that bore his name.
