Cassie Ventura Career

Career

Cassie was seen at clubs and parties in late 2004 often by Ryan Leslie. Leslie played the song for music executive Tommy Mottola after recording the track. Mottola offered Cassie a management contract, but Leslie Lelie signed her to NextSelection Lifestyle Group, his music-media firm that he formed with online marketing partner Rasheed Richmond. In 2005, Leslie wrote and produced Cassie's first song, "Me & U," for Cassie. In Germany, the song became a hit club. During this period, Diddy heard "Me & U" in a club, and Leslie convinced him to partner his Bad Boy Records with Leslie's NextSelection imprint for Cassie's debut album.

The majority of the album, produced by Ryan Leslie, is a blend of R&B/hip hop/pop. "I rap, I sing, I do my R&B, I do my slow songs, and stuff that the girls will adore," Ventura said in an interview, "I rap, I sing, I do my R&B, I do my slow songs, and stuff that the girls will adore. Incorporating OPM sounds into some of the ballads, she paid tribute to her Filipino roots. Cassie, the album's successor, was released on August 8, 2006, and it has sold 321,000 copies in the United States. The album's lead single, "Me & U," debuted at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, grossing more than 1 million digital downloads. Cassie appeared on Total Request Live and 106 & Park: BET's Top 10 Live in order to promote her album. Her appearances were described as "rocky" and "less-than-stellar," but Diddy said it was due to her inexperience. He said he would be "with her" as she grows and that he has no "question about her [ability]." Cassie addressed the events on her MySpace page, saying she was "pretty bad" and that she was "still getting over stage fright."

Cassie had not been dropped from Bad Boy Records after releasing two singles from her self-titled debut album in June 2007, according to MTV News. On her second album, Diddy revealed she was in the studio with producers Kanye West and Pharrell Williams. Cassie was also announced that she was no longer working with Ryan Leslie, who had produced the bulk of her debut album. However, the singer later stated that she was open to working with Leslie again. Bad Boy A&R Daniel 'Skid' Mitchell says that rather than relying on one songwriter and producer, as well as her own co-write contribution, makes the current album's mix of writers and producers a more personal record for her. Seven and LV, as well as Diddy himself, contributed to the album's success. Cassie said she had worked with Akon, The Neptunes, Danja, Eric Hudson, The Surf Club, and Rob Holiday, although she was unaware which tracks would be included on the album. Cassie said on the number of producers on the album, "collaborated with a number of different designers and a lot of different writers, which was an exciting opportunity for me because it was good to meet new people."

Cassie performed in the dance film Step Up 2: The Streets, and she also performed the lead single "Is It You" on the Step Up soundtrack in 2008. The album was released on November 13, 2007, and it reached eighty-five on the Canadian Hot 100 and fifty-two in the United Kingdom. Cassie revealed in July 2009 that Electro Love would be her second studio album title. Cassie said that her latest album would show more "independence"; there will be a "difference in vocals, as well as a little bit more personality; It's certainly a sensual album. Three singles have been released from the album; "Official Girl" featuring Lil Wayne in August 2008; "Must Be Love" starring Diddy in April 2009; and "Let's Get Crazy" starring Akon in August 2009. Both three singles failed to chart in the United States.

Cassie had signed a new Interscope Records contract in December 2009, despite several delays. She is included in a bust issue in August/September in which she says a new single will be released in the fall. She has recently told her Twitter followers that she is still recording for her album. Cassie had already released about fifty songs for the album at the time of a September 2010 interview with HitQuarters. Mitchell said she was taking her time over the album because she wants "it to be something that people are going to respect." She also appeared in rapper Wiz Khalifa's "Roll Up" music video as a love interest.

Cassie debuted "King of Hearts," which was released in the United States on February 14, 2012, as well as the official music video. Cassie performed the single live at BET's 106 & Park music video show on April 24, 2012. She and four dancers came to an end of the show with a brief dance number set to the Kanye West remix of the song. Following Cassie's success on Twitter, various internet media outlets shared mostly positive to encouraging reviews. On September 18, 2012, the single, "Balcony," starring Young Jeezy, was then released to US urban radio stations. Nicki Minaj unveiled "The Boys," her debut single from her re-release album Pink Friday, on September 13, 2012. The album was then sent to urban radios on September 25, and a music video was released on October 18.

Cassie revealed in a letter to her fans on July 11, 2013 that she had been working simultaneously on her album and RockaByeBaby, and was dubbed the best mixtape of the year by Dazed & Confused. On April 2, the mixtape featured American rapper Rick Ross, as well as the song's accompanying music video and rapper Wiz Khalifa's "Paradise" starring rapper Wiz Khalifa premiered on BET 106 & Park. Cassie was the face of the Summer 2013 Forever 21 collection, which was revealed in April 2013.

Cassie's boyfriend, rapper Diddy, announced that he would return to making music for Cassie's second studio album in March 2015. Cassie will reprise acting in the romantic comedy The Perfect Match in 2016. Cassie, a well-known playboy who doesn't believe in love until he meets the sexy Eva (Cassie), was released on March 11, 2016. In late 2017, she released the singles "Love a Loser" starring American rapper G-Eazy and "Don't Play It Safe."

Cassie began her professional relationship with Diddy and left Bad Boy Records in January 2019, and joined producer Chris n Teeb and singer-songwriter Ro James in the studio. Cassie released several singles, including "Moments" with The Code, "Excuses," "Don't Let Go," "Doll Talk," "Speaking Of," "Walkercoaster" with Ro James, "Teach Me" and "Simple Things," along with her own Ventura Music label "Simple Things," throughout Summer 2019. Cassie's "Free Fridays" was a series of launches that served as a preview of her long-awaited second album's arrival.
