On the television show The Big Bang Theory, she was best known for narrating the voice of recurring unseen character Mrs. Wolowitz, mother of Howard Wolowitz.
Personal life
Carol Ann Susi was born in Brooklyn to an Italian-American family. She graduated from Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School in Brooklyn in 1970. She studied at HB Studio in New York City before transferring to Los Angeles in the 1970s.
Career
Susi made her first on-screen appearance in Kolchak: The Night Stalker, where she played Monique Marmelstein, a recurring role. Other television and film credits included: McMillan, Coyote Ugly, Just Go with it, The Big Bang Theory, Cheers, Becker, the 1990 biker comedy Masters of Menace, That's Show, The Secret of My Life, My Blue Heaven, and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. She also had extensive experience in live theatre and portrayed a character on CSI: New York's video game version.
