Fletcher graduated from Wall High School in nearby Wall Township, New Jersey, where she competed in women's volleyball. In March 2018, Fletcher wrote a #MeToo-inspired letter to Billboard, expressing the support for sexual assault survivors. Fletcher is a member of the LGBTQ+ movement and actively supports organizations such as GLAAD, The Trevor Project, and It Gets Better. "I certainly identify myself within the LGBTQ community," she told Billboard in March 2017, but it's all in the family and gender spectrum, not black and white." We all fall somewhere in the world. That's how I feel confident expressing myself: loving someone who I feel like loving and that I'm attracted to." Fletcher said in December 2021 that she identifies as queer and "attracted to a lot of feminine energy [sic] but not necessarily be women."
Shannon Beveridge, a YouTuber, dated Fletcher from 2017 to 2020. Beveridge appeared in the music video for her single "Wasted Youth" in 2017. Simon Cowell partnered Fletcher with Hayley Orrantia, Paige Elizabeth Ogle, and Dani Knights to form Lakoda Rayne, under the guidance of Paula Abdul in the boot camp round. After being barred from the sport, they disbanded. She migrated to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2015, and began collaborating with producer Jamie Kenney, whose album "War Paint" was released. The song became Spotify's most popular song and was lauded by media. Fletcher was added to Spotify's Spotlight list in 2016, boosting her to be known as an independent artist. She was invited to speak on behalf of the company at the Fortune Tech Conference in 2019 as a success story. In September 2016, she released her debut EP Finding Fletcher independently on her debut.
