Camille Veronica Kostek (born February 19, 1992) is an American model, actress, and host.

She first gained notoriety for her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and then rose to international prominence after landing a solo cover for the magazine in 2019.

Early life and education

Kostek was born in Killingworth, Connecticut, on February 19, 1992, to Alan Kostek, a general contractor, and Christina (née Decosta), a gym manager. She is the eldest of four siblings and is of Polish, Irish, and Jamaican descent. She began taking ballet lessons at three years old and continued her ballet studies at the Broadway Dance Center in New York City, where she also competed nationally. She was a cheerleader, lacrosse captain, and host of her high school's broadcasting program at Haddam-Killingworth High School. At Eastern Connecticut State University, she majored in Communications with a minor in Business. She appeared on lacrosse for Eastern before joining the dance squad and as the host of the company's television show TV22. Kostek is a registered barre instructor.

Personal life

Kostek, a classically trained dancer, also performs on social media in candidly dancing in venues outside of a dance studio.

Since 2015, Kostek has been involved with American football player Rob Gronkowski. They live in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and Tampa, Florida.

Career

Kostek began her collegiate cheerleading with the Hartford Colonials of the United Football League at age 19.

Kostek made it to the National Football League's (NFL) New England Patriots Cheerleaders roster in 2013, as a freshman at a university. She was selected to cover its annual Swimsuit Calendar, which was shot in Saint Lucia in 2014. She also worked in China as a Patriots ambassador, where she supervised routines and taught youth cheer clinics. In addition, Kostek has worked on television commercial campaigns for Patriot Place and served as a spokesperson for the cheer team in a variety of television shows and public appearances.

She appeared in her last game before retirement at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona for Super Bowl XLIX, where the Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks on February 1, 2015.

In New England, Kostek served as co-host of ABC, CBS, and Fox affiliate channels, as well as a co-anchor in WPRI's The Rhode Show in 2015. She appeared on NESN's show Dirty Water TV from 2016 to 2017, reporting travel as well as sporting events, including NASCAR. She has hosted and corresponded for South by Southwest, the National Hockey League, and Levitate Music Festival, as well as lifestyle, red carpet, and sporting events for Maxim and Sports Illustrated, among others. In 2015, she founded her first modeling company in Boston and then became a brand ambassador and model for Benrus, Equinox Fitness, and Dune Jewelry. To name a few, her early work consisted of print and television ads for companies such as Nissan, New Balance, and Rebag. Elle has written for Elle and others, and has appeared in fashion and lifestyle magazines such as Ocean Drive, BELLA, Haute Living, The Improper Bostonian, and Bay among others.

Since then, Kostek has worked on campaigns and ambassadorships for various clothing and cosmetic companies, including L'Oréal, Victoria's Secret, and Clarins. She also worked on ads for fashion company Kittenish and walked the runway for the Spring/Summer 2019 collection at New York Fashion Week. Kostek is also a long-serving model and ambassador for Reebok, including the brand's PureMove Bra and Nano X1 campaigns.

Kostek had trouble finding modeling representation initially because modelling companies continued to advise her that she was not tall enough at 5'8" or thin enough at dress size 4/6. She eventually submitted a video of her participation in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, which was publishing an open casting call at the time. During Miami Beach Swim Week in July 2017, she was scouted and paraded. She was photographed by Yu Tsai in Belize in June for her first photoshoot with the magazine in January 2018. Kostek was chosen from 5,000 open casting candidates and the inaugural Sports Illustrated Swim Search was awarded in March 2018. For the second time in July 2018, she walked the runway for Miami Beach Swim Week for the second time, and the show then came to an end the following year. Josie Clough, a photographer, did her shoot in South Australia with photographer Josie Clough and netted a solo cover in her first year as a rookie.

For her blonde hair, blue eyes, and curves, Kostek has been dubbed a "American Bombshell" and sex symbol. She was selected in Maxim's "40 under 40" list of influential people of 2018, and she was included in Maxim's Top 100 list of Sexiest Women in the World in 2019.

Kostek made her film debut in STX Entertainment's 2018 comedy I Feel Pretty starring Amy Schumer. This was followed by a supporting role in Ryan Reynolds' science fiction film Free Guy (2021).

Kostek has been designing her namesake jewelry collections for Dune Jewelry since 2018. Shine the Light On proceeds go to mental health charities in 2020. She developed a clothing and accessory collection based on her trademarked word "Never Dancing." On May 3, 2021, Swimsuits For All's body-inclusive swimsuit and loungewear collection was unveiled.

In 2019, Kostek began touring universities and colleges in the United States for her "Own It" Tour, where she conducts workshops on self-acceptance and body image.
