Camille Kerger (born 1957) is a Luxembourgian composer, opera singer, and music educator.

He was a founding member of the Théâtre National de Luxembourg, which he directed until 2006.

He has created a number of chamber and orchestral pieces since 1982.

Early life

Kerger was born in Redange-sur-Attert, central Luxembourg, on February 9, 1957. At the Conservatoire de Luxembourg in Metz, as well as at the Mannheim and Düsseldorf Musikhochschule, where he received his diploma in singing.

Camille Kerger Career

Career

He began playing trombones in various orchestras, including the RTL Symphony Orchestra and the Trier Theatre Orchestra. He was a member of the European Youth Orchestra twice and appeared in many chamber ensembles. He has appeared at a variety of venues around Europe, including Barbara Hendrick and James Bowman and those working under Leopold Hager's leadership. He was a founding member of Théâtre National du Luxembourg in 1996, which he led until June 2006. He is currently the head of Lux's Institut Européen de Chant Choral. He has been a member of the Grand Ducal Institute's Art and Literature section since 2007.
