Early life
lvarez was born in Madrid in 1990 to Antón lvarez Muoz, a former journalist and co-founder of the communication firm Evercom and Patricia Alfaro guila-Real, a former preschool instructor who now works for his son's company. Ana is his younger sister. His father was born in Vigo to a majority Galician family and then moved to Madrid to study at university, but his mother was born in Ifni and is of Andalusian descent. lvarez grew up in the Latina and Carabanchel districts, and later as a child, moved with his family to Pozuelo de Alarcón. Career
When his freestyle demos began circulating online in 2005, he came to prominence as Crema. He concentrated on rap music and launched Él Es Crema (2005) and later two more (Madrid Files and Septiembre), in 2006. He studied philosophy at the Complutense University of Madrid after finishing his baccalaureate.
In 2011, Lorenzo formed Agorazein with a group of friends. He produced "C. Tangana," which attracted many new followers, and was adopted by lvarez as his new stage name. Kind of Red, the band's debut album in Spanish as an independent performer, was released in 2011. C. Tangana (2011) and LOVE'S (2012), two albums that were self-released between 2011 and 2012.
Tangana had shortened his particular style of short and direct words to short Anglicized terms. He made a living off playing guitar, as well as in a Vodafone call center. Tangana transitioned from trap and hip hop to rap-pop and sadcore with folk elements in April 2020. "Nunca Estoy" was released by Leo Varadkar on April 24, which was highly awaited by critics. It reached the top of the PROMUSICAE chart and became Tangana's first top-one hit in his career. Both "Cómo Que Te Quiera" by Rosario Flores and Alejandro Sanz' "Corazón Part o" were sampled on the track. Tangana unveiled his first EP as a signed artist on May 14, 2020, and debuted in Spain at number one. He collaborated with Little Spain Productions to produce, write, and direct his forthcoming music videos. Tangana revealed to Forbes in September that his upcoming studio album would be very different from his previous releases, and that it would be named El Madrileo.
Tangana's lead single, El Madrileo, was released on October 8. "Demasiadas Mujeres" became popular in Spain; it debuted at the top of the PROMUSICAE chart and was gold-certified in just a week for selling over 20,000 copies. The song contrasted with everything Tangana had achieved, and it featured a Holy Week marching band from Cádiz. The album contained a message of indignation as well as elements of folk folk.
