Bryce David Hirschberg (born May 24, 1990) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, and actor. Counterfeiters, his first feature-length film, received several international accolades, including Best Feature Narrative at the Wolves Independent International Film Awards in Lithuania in 2017.
Education and personal life
Hirschberg graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2012, where he majored in Film Production and minored in Film Studies. He was awarded the Cosgrove Family Distinguished Visiting Artist Endowment Scholarship, which honors "outstanding students who have an outstanding and unique promise for continued innovation and academic excellence."
Hirschberg lives on his boat in Marina Del Rey, California (where the majority of the film Counterfeiters takes place).
Nicole O'Brien, Hirschberg's Too Hot to Handle co-star, began a relationship in 2019. In June 2020, the two teams parted ways.
Career
Hirschberg produced two short films at LMU, both of which were nominated for various awards: Baer (2011), which received the Special Jury Prize at the Los Angeles Film Festival, and Counterfeiters (2013), which was screened at numerous international festivals, including the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival and the Festival of Student Film at KCET, and Fine Cut: KCET's Festival of Student Film.
Counterfeiters, Hirschberg's first feature film based on his short film of the same name, tells the tale of a young man named Bridger, who devises a "do-it-yourself" way of counterfeiting money to save his dying mother.
Hirschberg, writer, producer, editor, sound designer, and lead actor of the film, which premiered at the Brenden Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Palms Casino Resort in July 2017. It was screened at many major film festivals around the world, including the Marina Del Rey Film Festival (USA), Wolves Independent Film Festival (Lithuania), Miami Independent Film Festival (USA), and Filmchella (UK), where Hirschberg was named "Best Actor" and "the most innovative filmmaking; independent in spirit, often against all odds with no budget."
He has also appeared on Netflix's original "Too Hot To Handle" in which contestants are selected to remain in a luxurious villa for a few weeks without any kissing or sex.
