Cam, Boren Leach's newborn, was diagnosed with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) last week and was admitted to the Children's Hospital of San Antonio. In a series of Instagram Stories, she chronicled her son's fight with the virus, claiming that his older brothers were sick first. For those children, RSV causes mild cold symptoms, but it can also cause serious infant problems such as bronchiolitis and pneumonia. Boren Leach and her husband Jeff Leach said she and her partner, Jeff Leach, went to the hospital last Thursday after finding his chest retractions, a sign of exhaustion. A doctor diagnosed him with RSV and sent him home to surprise after waiting three hours before they were seen. Boren Leach said she took Cam to the Children's Hospital of San Antonio for a second opinion less than 24 hours later and was immediately admitted. After her son Crew's death nearly three years ago, the mother encouraged other parents to follow their intuitions, 'particularly triggering.' On Christmas Day 2019, the crew was discovered unresponsive and declared brain dead. Boren Leach's youngest son was given oxygen and spent four days in the neonatal intensive care unit before being released on Tuesday.
