Career
McHenry started working for ABC Television's Washington affiliate and sister station NewsChannel 8 as a sports reporter and fill-in anchor after graduating from Medill School of Journalism. She returned to ABC 7 after two weeks with Fox Sports San Diego as a dugout reporter on the San Diego Padres telecasts.
She left ABC7 to join ESPN as a Washington, D.C.-based bureau reporter in March 2014. She appeared on several television shows, including SportsCenter, Outside the Lines, NFL Live, and Baseball Tonight. McHenry revealed on Twitter that she was being let go by ESPN on April 27, 2017, with the NFL Draft being her last assignment. Ed Werder, Jayson Stark, and Jay Crawford were among the 100-person layoffs. McHenry fired because she was "white and paid too much" in May 2018.
After McHenry reportedly sent FOX co-host and former wrestler Tyrus sexual assault, he accused her of sexual assault, he accused her of a series of lewd text messages in 2019, he accused FOX co-host and former wrestler Tyrus of sexual assault. The matter was investigated and resolved, according to Fox News. However, McHenry filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Fox News and Murdoch on December 10, 2019. McHenry denied that she had misplaced text messages that she says were important to her allegations later in the lawsuit. She voluntarily dropped the case and left the Fox network in July 2021, presumably as part of a court settlement.

ESPN has banned McHenry from the network for one week as a result of the incident. The towing firm released a statement the next day saying that they did not want to see McHenry suspended or terminated as a result of her remarks.
