"Succession" by Shiv. Arc Has Always Been Concerned With White Feminism's Insidiousness

www.popsugar.co.uk, May 31, 2023
Fans of season four's final episode, "Succession," were curious about Shiv's choices. Shiv has been something of a stranger compared to her brothers and dad throughout the series, and she was brought to life by Sarah Snook. Kendall Strong (Jeremy Strong) was chosen from an early age to replace his father's replacement. Roman (Kieran Culkin) served with Waystar Royco, but he was still a mess. Connor (Alan Ruck), the older brother, was always on the outside but not by choice. Even Shiv's husband, Tom (Matthew Macfadyen), is a partner of the firm. Shiv is supposed to be the conservative family's liberal daughter, and in another story, she'd be the voice of reason who leads the family to the left. A hero. That's what some fans hoped would happen leading up to the final episodes: Shiv will end the cycle in which her family is trapped. Shiv has always been a lovely portrait of a white, wealthy feminist, who has used so-called feminism to benefit her and then stumbling everyone else in the process. Logan (Brian Cox), her father's eulogy, in episode nine, is a good example of this. "It's been difficult to be his daughter," she says. "He was very difficult on women." . This is the case. . He couldn't reach a whole woman in his head." That's a brash understatement of a man who was flat out verbal and/or sexually involved in a marriage that was abused to women he was involved in professionally and/or sexually. "But he did OK, Dad," Shiv says of him. Even as death, she covers for him because it's what she does best — to be the grieving daughter who can criticize her old man but not too much.

In His Brian Cox-Narrated "Satellite" Video, Harry Styles May Have Snuck a One Direction Easter Egg

www.popsugar.co.uk, May 4, 2023
Harry Styles is back for a dreamy new music video. The pop star unveiled a visual for his song "Satellite" on May 3rd, following a very cute robot backstage at one of Styles' performances. As "Succession" actor Brian Cox narrates, the robot watches a video of the Curiosity rover exploring Mars in solitude ahead of the show. The robot emerges wandering the streets after that, seemingly without a single place to go. It finally lands in a grassy field with Styles' name as it gazes up at the stars while its battery lasts out.

Relive All the Disastrous "Succession" Weddings, From Tom and Shiv to Connor and Willa

www.popsugar.co.uk, April 11, 2023
"Succession" is best known for its dramatic weddings, but it's probably safe to say Connor Roy's (Alan Ruck) reception eclipsed all those who attended before it. Weddings have been the site of some of the series's most tragic scenes, from shocking twists to multiple botched attempts to loosen Logan Roy's (Brian Cox) chokehold on Waystar RoyCo. In the third episode of the show's fourth and final season, everything changed, notably after Logan died just before Connor married Willa Ferreyra (Justine Lupe). Fans of season three's finale, as Connor and Willa became engaged, and Ruck himself confirmed it'd be a big event ahead of season four's premiere. During a March 22 roundtable, per GamesRadar, "yes, it's very dramatic." "I can't tell you anything without spoiling stuff! However, we know that Connor and Willa are getting married, but we can only say that the circumstances are tumultuous. Now that episode three is out, we know it was the year's understatement.
