Happy World Diabetes Day! I always love when people ask me about my diabetes. What’s that on your arm? What is that machine for? Did that hurt? Did you eat too much sugar when you were a baby? What in the world is THAT? These questions give me an opportunity to bring awareness and knowledge of Type 1 diabetes. So, to all the people who have asked me this question, here ya go. (And no, I didn’t eat too much sugar as a baby.) #worlddiabetesday Xo. It’s November - Happy National Diabetes Awareness month from a real-life type 1 diabetic. Spending extra time this month showing gratitude. Gratitude for my doctors (Dr. Kaufmann you are a real-life superhero), my CGM, my Afrezza, my diabetic friends who have become family, my family and friends who have supported me endlessly. All of the people who have shown me grace and patience during my highs and lows (literally) - Thank you. Throughout this daily burden, I continue to find things to be GRATEFUL for. And to my fellow diabetics - Hey, I am proud of you. 💙 Xo.
