Career
In 1999, the group came to fame by appearing in their own BBC television series, Miami 7. S Club 7 had four UK No.1 singles, one UK No.1 album, and a string of hits across Europe, including a top-ten single in the United States, Asia, Latin America, and Africa over the five years they were together, including a top-ten single in the United States, Asia, Latin America, and Africa. They released eleven singles, launched eleven singles, and went on to sell over fourteen million albums around the world. S Club, the group's first album, had a soaring 1990s pop sound, similar to many artists of their time. Their musical approach developed to a more experimental and R&B sound throughout their career, as seen most in their final album, Seeing Double. In 2000 for Britain's first appearance and in 2002 for best British single, S Club 7 received two Brit Awards – in 2000 for British debutant and in 2002 for best British single. The organization received the Record of the Year award in 2001. In 2002, group member Paul Cattermole retired from the organisation, and the company changed its name from S Club 7 to simply S Club. S Club announced on April 21, 2003, during a live on-stage performance, that they were to disband.
McIntosh attempted to sign as a solo artist between 2004 and 2006 but was unsuccessful. He appeared in Totally Boyband, an MTV reality show from 2006. Some of the actors were cast members of disbanded groups. He became a member of a boyband on Upper Street, made up of ex-members of 911, Steps, Another Level, and New Kids on the Block. The band's single "The One" was released on October 23, 2006, but it wasn't a commercial success, peaking at #35 on the UK Singles Chart, and the band had split up after a dispute with their record company. McIntosh was also a competitor in Sport Relief in 2006, boxing against Jack Osbourne against Jack Osbourne.
Jo O'Meara and Paul Cattermole of McIntosh and S Club 7 formed the S Club Allstars (previously "S Club 3") in 2008 and performed in numerous nightclubs and universities in the United Kingdom and Australia. In 2010, McIntosh's debut solo single "No Regrets (Who We Are) debuted as City Boy. He has also posted several songs on SoundCloud, but no new single has been released. S Club 7 confirmed plans for an arena reunion tour in 2014, shortly named Bring It All Back 2015, which toured the UK in May 2015.
McIntosh, O'Meara, and Tina Barrett, the complete group reunion, were replaced by Cattermole. When O'Meara retired in 2020, she was replaced by S Club 8 original member Stacey Franks the following year, and the group was renamed "S Club Allstars" after O'Meara's departure.
