BorasLegend Career

Biography and career

Born in Croatia on September 1, 1992, the Croatian war and the Croatian War of Independence brought an infant to Sweden as an infant. At the age of 7, his family went from Gödestad to Bors, where he has lived since. BorasLegend, his gamertag, is a nodulation to BorasLegend's home town. He was a member of Sweden's youth academy, but he resigned at the age of 15. He missed his football career due to injuries two years ago.

He started playing FIFA at an early age, but he piqued his interest in it when he quit his football career early. He made it to the final of a big offline tournament in 2009 but lost to Avan "aaviboy" Rashid in his first game. He had his revenge in the unofficial Swedish Championship at Dreamhack Winter, where he defeated Avan Rashid 3-1.

He took a break to concentrate on education and work after his victory but returned to Sweden in 2012 to compete in the Swedish Championship. He made it all the way to the final, where he eventually lost to Filip "Stek" Persson in a thrilling best-of-three series. The loss was a big change. After the humiliation, Ivan Lapanje decided to put all focus on Fifa and quit his job at Hennes & Mauritz. He took home the Swedish E-Football tournament in the fall of 2012 after defeating Filip Persson in semi-finals and Lukas "Lukasinho" Gummesson in the final.

He appeared in Las Vegas at the start of 2013. After losing Rafael "Ralfitita" Riobo in the final with 3–1, he was able to go all the way and win the world championship. He also received US$140,000, which is to date one of the most lucrative single winnings in e-sport history. In Rebro, he won the Swedish competition Metallsvenskan after defeating Lukas Gummesson in the final a month after the triumph in Las Vegas. But the Swede's sweetest victory came on Dreamhack Summer, where he retaliated after last year's disappointment. In the final, he defeated Lukas Gummesson and took his second Swedish national championship and his first official Swedish title. After joining the Copenhagen Wolves this summer, he earned his first sponsorship contract.

For the first time in the fall of 2013, Ivan Lapanje competed in the ESWC in France. He advanced to the semifinals, where he defeated Frenchman Vincent "Vinch" Hoffman, who later won the competition. In the bronze placement game, the Swede defeated Alban "azzufdarra" Xhemajli.

Ivan Lapanje joined the Alliance in 2014, an e-sport group. He entered Maxinge Challenge in Finland, but lost to Lukas "Lukasinho" Gummesson after three long games that culminated in a penalty shootout. In the finals of Karlstad Open, the same Lukasinho defeated BorasLegend two months later. Boras stepped up in the Swedish championship in the summer of 2014 after several final losses last year. BorasLegend defended his Swedish national title after beating upstart Lucas "Afro" Wallman in the final 1–0, 3–2. He continued his winning streak by winning the online competition Showmatch Spring against the Italian Diego Campagnani. He returned to the ESWC and Paris several months later. This time he suffered another semifinal loss to Iran Navid "Adamant" Borhani, who eventually won the final.

In 2015, he joined Trig Esports in Sweden. This year was his worst in his career, with the Fifa 15 engine being particularly unsatisfied. Despite winning the final against Christian "chrillegbg" Bergenholtz, he won the Swedish online competition Cashligan in April for the first time since 2013. BorasLegend was barred from the Swedish Championship in May 2015 after a penalty shootout against Rasmus "tetersson" Pettersson, meaning he was thus unable to defend his title, which he had held for two years. On November 5, he revealed on his Facebook page that he was leaving Trig E-sport due to their economic difficulties.

BorasLegend won the Fifa Interactive World Cup grand finals in 2016, for the first time in his career. He started strong, winning his group by many who referred to him as the group of death after defeating former World Champion August "Agge" Rosenmeier. In the round of 16, he continued his quest by defeating the German Benedikt "SaLz0r" Saltzer. He defeated American Hope Mike Ribeiro 2-1 in the quarterfinals and advanced to the semifinals. Since being left down in all his games, he earned the nickname "Comeback King." He did not recover and lost 1–2 against Bacha in the semifinal, becoming the new World Champion. BorasLegends' first FIWC medal was awarded a bronze medal (after a competition ranking decision is made), representing Sweden's first medal in the FIWC history.

A lack of competitions in general characterized the season of 16. Boras was thus unable to recover the national championship from FIFA 14 and 13. Boras also did a good job on the international stage, following his triumph in the world cup. He made it to 2 out of three live events and secured a top-ten finish in the Grand Finals hosted in London in Gfinity's Play Like a Legend (FUT). Later, he travelled to Bangkok to compete in the Asian game Fifa Online 3. Despite a few days of training, he managed to finish top-four after losing in semifinal to eventual champion Seop Kim after a penalty shootout.

BorasLegend began Fifa 17 in a good way by finishing on the first place on the Ultimate Team world rankings for October month. For the third time in his career, he competed in ESWC at the end of October. He beat Sean Allen 6–1 in the last game, sending him through to the playoffs after a rough start in the group stage. However, he was disqualified for using Hugo Lloris, an unregistered player, in three of his games. The decision was contentious, and many followers protested, but the ESWC's decision remained unchanged. He joined Hashtag United in the United Kingdom, snapping his 1-year contract as a free agent.

Hashtag United left Hashtag United in order to work in Sweden following a fruitful Fife 18 season in which he reached the FIFA eWorld Cup grand final. He recently signed for Swedish club BK Häcken after being a free agent for six months. In the eAllskan, the Swedish equivalent of the Swedish first division, the Allsvenskan was represented by the eSports counterpart.
