Early life and education
Bonnie Francesca Wright was born in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets on February 17, 1991, the second child of Sheila Teague and Gary Wright, the jewelry firm Wright & Teague's founders. She obtained her secondary education at Prior Weston Primary School and then the King Alfred School in North London. Wright continued with her studies with the assistance of a tutor and obtained three A-levels in art, photography, and design technology while on target.

Career
Castings were held across the United Kingdom for Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone, the British author J. K. Rowling's best-selling book. Wright's elder brother had read the first two books in the series and told her that she reminded him of Ginny Weasley. Wright had no prior participation beyond school plays, and she asked her mother if she could audition "on whim." Since her photos were sent to the film's casting directors, she received a screen test for David Heyman, and her parents were informed shortly after that she was notified shortly after.
Wright made her film debut at the age of nine after the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 2001, where her character and mother met Harry Potter during the Hogwarts express's boarding.
