Wray Hutchinson, president of World Wide Wings, which holds the franchise for that location since 2007, said the parking above the bar became a 'haven for crime and drug use'. Hutchinson described the bar's awnings being set on fire, cars frequently being broken into, and junk being tossed from the top of building to the road. The city responded to the three years of complaints by shutting down the car park entirely last August, which devastated the bar's business and triggering a feud where the bar refused top pay rent until it was served an eviction notice.

The number of unlawful e-bikes riding on the streets of the United Kingdom has doubled in the space of just one year, it has been revealed. According to police records, 260 electric powered bicycles were confiscated by officers last year, double the 130 confiscated in 2022 and four times as many as the 61 that were confiscated in the year before. Following Freedom of Information requests, 15 organisations were gathered, but the true number is expected to be much larger because many of England and Wales' 43 police departments don't have detailed information on these seizures. It comes as a result of increasing calls for reforms in the legislation to combat the danger of e-bikes, some of which are modified to meet speed limits or used in conjunction with crime. Families of those killed in accidents involving electric vehicles have requested that the government toughen laws as the e-bikes have become more popular, with one of the owners' daughter stating that they have been 'almost impossible to regulate.'

On a road in Shepherds Bush, east London, the bike was engulfed by fire on a road. Last night, the distressing images were posted on social media. Loud bangs can also be heard emanating from the bike's back, each time igniting sparks and throwing fire into the atmosphere. As the fire continued to rage on, the bike could be seen strewn in a cylce lane, causing a thick layer of smoke to surround vehicles along the busy highway.
