Blueface Life

Johnathan Michael Porter (born January 20, 1997), also known as Blueface, is an American rapper and songwriter. He became a viral internet meme in October 2018, after releasing the music video for his album "Respect My Cryppin," and tattooing Benjamin Franklin on the side of his face.

In November 2018, he signed to Cash Money West, the West Coast branch of Birdman's Cash Money Records label.

A remix of his song "Thotiana," starring Cardi B and YG, became his most chart-to-date, peaking at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019.

Early life

In Los Angeles, California, Blueface was born on January 20, 1997. He grew up in Mid-City and attended several elementary schools before deciding to move with his mother in Santa Clarita Valley but later settled in Oakland with his father. Blueface debuted in San Fernando Valley and joined the marching band, playing alto saxophone and football, making him the starting quarterback in 2014, standing at 6'4'' and weighing 160 pounds. In 2014, Blueface, as the team's starting quarterback, won the East Valley League championship. In 2013, Blueface signed to play for Fayetteville State University and briefly played college football until retiring in 2016. In the video for the remix to "Thotiana," where the rapper portrays a top prospect high school quarterback disrespecting his mentor due to his desire to pursue women and fame.

At a young age, Blueface started to play rap music, but mainly listened to 50 Cent, The Game, and Snoop Dogg.

Personal life

Blueface has two children. He had spent the majority of his adult life unemployed, with occasional exceptions in holding a few part-time jobs.

Blueface was robbed by a man at a Chevron gas station about 8:30 p.m. local time on November 16, 2018. Blueface fired at the criminal's vehicle and was later charged with shooting at a occupied structure, a felony in California. On November 18, Blueface was released on $6,000 bail. Since law enforcement confiscated a loaded, unregistered handgun in his possession, Blueface was arrested on February 1, 2019.

In December 2019, Blueface took criticism after posting a video of himself standing on top of a black SUV and throwing money into a crowd of people in Skid Row, a notoriously impoverished neighborhood of Los Angeles. Although some people regarded it as a positive gesture, it was also condemned as "dehumanizing."

Blueface announced in June 2021 that he had signed up for the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. On July 23, 2021, he made his debut in a special gloved match against Tiktoker Kane Trujillo at BKFC 19. He won the amateur round by a unanimous vote.
