Rufus Arthur Johnson (born July 5, 1976), better known by his stage name Bizarre, is an American rapper best known for his work with the Detroit-based hip hop group D12.

Early life

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Bizarre was born on July 5, 1976. Bizarre grew up living with his single mother. When he was in fifth grade, he began rapping. His teacher assumed he was talking to himself and started calling him 'Bizarre.' He formed the D12 with neighborhood friends DeShaun "Proof" Holton, Karnail "Bugz" Pitts, Carlos "Fuzz Scoota" Rabb, Willie "Eye Kyu" Drake, and Von "Kuniva" Carlisle. Through Proof, he had also met Marshall "Eminem" Mathers. On Friday nights, Bizarre used to attend 'The Shelter' in Saint Andrew's Hall, where rap competitions were held.

He appeared on the first EP of the D12 in 1997, titled The Underground EP. Proof, Eye Kyu, Bugz, Eminem, Kuniva, & Mr Porter, the EP Bizarre recorded songs with D12 members, before releasing his debut solo EP titled Attack of the Weirdos in 1997. D12's Night, their debut album, was released in 2001. In 2004, he appeared on D12 World's second studio album. Through his own label Redhead Records, Bizarre released his first official studio album, Hannicap Circus, in 2005, which received mixed feedback. He appeared on the 2006 Shady Records compilation album "Murder" as a member of D12 and Kuniva. Following rapper Proof's death in April 2006, he and the remainder of the D12 became inactive for a long time.

Bizarre's second studio album, Blue Cheese & Coney Island, was released in 2007. Return of the Dozen, Bizarre and D12's first official mixtape, was released in 2008. The Return of the Dozen Vol. is a sequel. In 2011, two more were added to the collection.

Average Joes Entertainment, Bizarre's third studio album on Average Joes Entertainment, titled Friday Night in St. Andrews, was released in 2010. The album is more true-based on real events from Bizarre's early life and career, so it's more pertinent than his previous releases. The album includes guest appearances from Seven the General, Royce da 5'9", Tech N9ne, Yelawolf, Kuniva, and others.

With Tech N9ne & Nate Walker, the first single released was "Believer." Kuniva, Seven the General, Royce da 5'9" & Redman were the second official single for the album, with Kuniva, Seven the General, and Redman. However, Redman will not appear on the single or the video version because of unexplained circumstances.

The Davidians, along with King Gordy, formed a hip hop duo. The Davidians were included on Esham's mixtape, The Butcher Shop. The duo has since signed to Majik Ninja Entertainment under the name Last American Rock Stars. In Swifty McVay, King Gordy, Sean Strange, and Meth Mouth's music video, Bizarre was included.

Bizarre appeared on the single "Be a Legend" with Russian hip-hop group Red Family MC'z in 2010. Bizarre was featured on "Shock Em" by underground rap group Bankrupt Records in 2011 for the album Double Vision. Bizarre's fourth mixtape, This Guy's a Weirdo, features King Gordy's song "Justin Bieber" and a music video via Reel Wolf in 2012. Bizarre fantasizes about the songs about raping and killing Canadian singer Justin Bieber.

Due to remarks he made about Bad Meets Evil, Bizarre said Eminem recruited people to investigate colleague Fuzz Scoota's social media pages in 2011. Fuzz left D12 after this event.

In 2014, he released "Pray for Me" as part of his upcoming album. The Lace Blunts 2 mixtape was first published in March 2014, with nineteen tracks starring guest artists including Fuzz Scoota of their band D12, Rittz, Young Zee, King Gordy, and Big T.

In October 2014, Bizarre appeared on an international collaboration track called "Fuck the DJ" by UK rapper Blacklisted MC, which also included Coolio, Adil Omar (from Pakistan) and Uzimon (from Bermuda).

He wrote a verse for Detroit musicians Mastamind and Jeremiah Ferguson's song "Whats Right" later this year.

He appeared on rapper Lazarus' single "Open Heart Surgery" in 2014. It was released under All Def Digital's banner and at the 12th Underground Music Awards in New York City, it was named for "Song of the Year" and "Song of the Year."

He has also appeared on a Struggle Da Preacher song "In Yo Behind," which was released on Struggle's album Ups'n'Downs on June 30, 2014. In July 2015, they shot a video for it in Moscow, Russia. Young Dirty Bastard, Baby Eazy E, and Bizarre appear on Mike ADHD's "Frag Out" series.

The Keepaz of the Krypt (One Man Kru & Kapital Z) single "Diaries of the Whack Emcees" feat was released in August 2017. On all digital media outlets, as well as One Man Kru's bandcamp web page, Bizarre of D12 was announced. In its first week of debut, the album attracted over 1 million views on SoundCloud. The track was revealed just two weeks before it was revealed that Bizarre had signed to Majik Ninja Entertainment.

In May 2018, Bizarre's music video "Cocaine In Miami" directed by Abeni Nazeer was released. He appeared on the Song Sadisttreff 2 by german Rapper Crystal f, as well as Timi Hendrix and King Gordy.

Bizarre declared on July 9, 2018 that he was revived Redhead Records, with Danny Mellz being his first act other than himself.

Bizarre made the single "Weirdo" in September 2018. No idea of Bizarre (British) by No Concept, Technique Recordings, Smith's name on Drumsound and Bassline Smith's label, Technique Recordings.

During the 2018 MGK and Joe Budden beef, Bizarre made news again with Eminem by unveiling his own diss track aimed at Machine Gun Kelly, Jay Electronica, and Joe Budden. On September 18, 2018, Bizarre's diss track "Love Tap" was released as a single worldwide.

Bizarre has also signed a contract for his podcast "The Bizarre World Podcast" with The Digital Soapbox Network/CBS/Entercom.

Bizarre's second Extended Play Rufus was released on October 10, 2019. On the day after the unveiling of his second extended play, Hopsin revealed the unveiling of a duo mixtape "Leatherface Mixtape" by Hopsin.

Bizarre appeared on the Czech rapper "Tabu" album of a Czech rapper named Schyzo on the song "Lubrikant" on May 31, 2020.

Bizarre is featured on "Fat Man Swag" by Pacific Northwest rapper Jawbo, who was born on July 22, 2021.

Bizarre is featured on "Limitless" by Canadian rapper Brax, from his album "Leave it to Cleaver" which debuted in late 2021.

Bizarre's fifth album "Dumpster Juice" debuted on October 31, 2021, with Kidd Kidd, Merkules, and Giggs among others among others.
