Early life
Littleford was born in Nashville, Tennessee, the niece of Jackie, a scholar, and Philip O. Littleford, a cardiologist and entrepreneur. She grew up in Winter Park, Florida. On an Alaskan fishing trip, her father and brother died when she was sixteen in a pontoon plane crash. She attended Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania for three years before attending acting classes at New York University; she later graduated from The New School for Social Research.
Personal life
Littleford lives in Los Angeles. From 1998 to 2015, she was married to Rob Fox, a director and producer who worked with her on The Daily Show, and she had a son (born 2005) and an adopted daughter (born 2012). In 2017, Fox died.
Career
Littleford performed in improvisational theatre with the Chicago City Limits company, founded a sketch comedy troupe, and produced her own one-woman performance, This Is Where I Get Off, which she appeared with the Circle Repertory Company early in her acting career. Littleford is perhaps best known for her debut as the first female reporter on The Daily Show. She has appeared on numerous television shows since the 1990s, including Spin City, The West Wing, Family Guy, and Frasier. She was the female lead on the Fox series Method and Red, as well as Ben Tennyson's mother Sandra in Ben 10: Race Against Time and then reprised her role in Ben 10: Alien Force episode 20 and again in Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. She has appeared in television commercials for Laughing Cow cheese, Cascade, and a hotel chain.
Littleford appeared in the Disney XD original film I'm in the Band, the 2010 Disney channel movie starstruck, and appeared on MTV's The Hard Times of RJ Berger, Dana on ABC's Desperate Housewives, and The Fosters' realtor.
