Benji Schwimmer Life

Benjamin Daniel Schwimmer (born January 18, 1984) is an American professional dancer, choreographer, and actor.

He was the king of So You Think You Can Dance (2005) and has choreographed for both the American and international versions of the competition.

In the 2010 film Leading Ladies, he co-starred.

Early life

Schwimmer was born in Newport Beach, California, on January 18, 1984, and grew up in a Latter-day Saint (Mormon) household in Moreno Valley, California. Buddy Schwimmer, a choreographer and a West Coast Swing dancer, is his uncle. Laurie Schwimmer's mother, Laurie Schwimmer, and her sister, Lacey Schwimmer, are also renown dancers and solo dancers.

He began appearing on McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Power Wheels, and a few others.

He began competing at five years old. He began his studies early and then taught dance at Crafton Hills College in Yucaipa for one semester.

Both Schwimmer and his cousin, Heidi Groskreutz (top four finalists on the same season of So You Think You Can Dance) are also champions of the United States Open and World Showcase Swing. In the Mexican state of Oaxaca, the swimmer's dancing was suspended in order to complete a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). He returned to the dance floor later in life. He founded D.E.M.A.N.D., a non-profit group that helps dancers with HIV/AIDS, and other ailments, and he was a co-owner of 5678 Dance Studio in Redlands since 2011.

Personal life

Schwimmer is gay. He came out in 2012 after being put through reconstructive therapy and struggling with his sexuality for a long time. The event that prompted his decision was two gay friends' suicide. He has since left the LDS Church and openly sluggish against LGBT people.
