Beni Arashiro (born March 30, 1986 in Okinawa Prefecture) is a Japanese R&B musician who debuted in 2004 under the Avex Trax brand.

Arashiro left Avex Trax in 2008 and moved to Universal Music Japan, where she first performed under the mononym Beni (stylized as BENI). She was first known for her 2004 single "Here Alone," but later singles (such as "Mo Ichi do..." with Dohzi-T, "Mo Nido to...", and "Kiss Kiss Kiss") have surpassed this.

Life and career

Born in Okinawa, she moved to San Diego, California, and then Yokohama. Her mother is Japanese and her father is of European descent. Namie Amuro, Alicia Keys, and her father's favorite singer Janet Jackson influenced her. She graduated from Nile C. Kinnick High School in Yokosuka, Japan. At Sophia University, she majored in Sociology.

She aspired to be a singer from a young age, but she didn't take up piano due to her musical parents.
