Museum's boomerangs go to indigenous people in Australia (and no, they WON'T come back) - as critics say they are too quick to empty collections
www.dailymail.co.uk,
August 10, 2024
Oxford University Professor Lawrence Goldman said there 'doesn't seem a good reason' for the decision by the Horniman Museum and Gardens, in south London. He asked: 'If museums gave away everything that people living now would like to repossess, what would become of their collections? Shall we send back all the great paintings acquired by our galleries?' The two boomerangs are of 'the utmost cultural significance' to the Warumungu people of Northern Territory. They are among ten objects, including a knife and sheath, the museum is returning at a celebration later this year. Two years ago, the Horniman agreed to hand back 72 plundered items including 'Benin bronzes' to Nigeria as it was the 'moral thing to do'.
AstraZeneca faces up to £255million compensation bill for 'defective' Covid vaccine after pharma titan admitted it DOES cause ultra-rare blood clot side effect - as wife of victim says 'we're not going to give up'
www.dailymail.co.uk,
April 29, 2024
Kate Scott whose husband Jamie was allegedly injured by AstraZeneca's Covid jab welcomed the news and defiantly declared they would not give up as 'we have truth on our side'. Lawyers involved in the case told MailOnline some of the victims could be in the running for payouts of over £5million reflecting the devastating nature their injuries. With 51 people represented in the current class action, this means the total bill could, theoretically, approach £255million. However, they added that the claims have yet to be fully quantified and some cases could eclipse or fall much short of the estimated £5million.
AstraZeneca admits for first time its Covid vaccine CAN cause rare side effect in tense legal fight with victims of 'defective' jab
www.dailymail.co.uk,
April 29, 2024
The reaction, while astonishingly rare, is at the heart of a multi-million-pound class action by dozens of victims and families of the dead who claim the jab was 'defective'. One of those seeking compensation for injuries linked to the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine is father-of-two and IT engineer Jamie Scott. He was left with a permanent brain injury following a blood clot and the bleed on the brain it caused after received the vaccine in April 2021 and has been unable to work since. His is one of 51 cases currently lodged in the High Court seeking damages estimated to be worth about £100million in total. On AstraZeneca's new submission Kate Scott, Mr Scott's wife, said: 'I hope their admission means we will be able to sort this out sooner rather than later. We need an apology, fair compensation for our family and other families who have been affected. We have the truth on our side, and we are not going to give up.'
