Ben Daniels Life

Ben Daniels (born 10 June 1964) is an English actor.

Daniels, a stage actor, was nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor for Never the Sinner (1991), and the Evening Standard Award for Best Actor in the M.E.N. Martin Yesterday (1998) was nominated for Best Support Actor in the Arthur Miller film All My Sons and received the 2001 Olivier Award for his role. Daniels made his Broadway debut in Les Liaisons Dangereuses in 2008, for which he was nominated for the Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play.

Daniels has appeared on several television shows, including Cutting It (2002–04), The Virgin Queen (2005), Law & Order: The United Kingdom (2009–11), and The Exorcist (2016–17). Daniels was cast as Pontius Pilate in the forthcoming Netflix superhero film The Crown's live on April 1, 2018, according to TVLine.

Early life

Daniels was born in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, on June 10, 1964. His father worked as an engineer and then as a grocer, while his mother owned a children's clothing store. "I was a shy child but it was also very disruptive." I was so sneaky and underhanded.

Daniels attended Manor Park School, a state comprehensive school in Nuneaton, near Coventry (since closed). Drama lessons at O-levels gave him a voice, and he attended sixth form studies at Stratford College between 1980 and 1982, studying A-levels in theatre studies and English literature, according to Daniels. Daniels, who he knew as Dave, was "very serious about his work and struck me as incredibly intelligent," a fellow student explained. Daniels then studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) for three years.

Personal life

Daniels has been in a long-term friendship with actor Ian Gelder since 1993. They met during the development of Joe Orton's Entertaining Mr Sloane. Daniels lived in South London and was already aware of his sexual orientation in his teens (He once remarked: "Out!" ("I've never been in.") However, he did not discuss the issue with his parents because they did not have a close emotional relationship. "I was worried about mentioning it after leaving drama school because HIV was feared by all and there was a strong anti-gay reaction." He revealed his homosexuality at the age of 24, while appearing in Martin Sherman's All-Star Benefit Performance.

"Homophobia is also extremely present in film and television," Daniels said in an interview in 2001. I know I've lost jobs as a result of being gay, but it's still a problem. Even on a serious BBC Two drama, there will be a suit in some office going." "Ah, isn't he a poof?" says the narrator. I don't identify myself politically gay, but if I do get a whiff of it right now, I'm on it like a ton of bricks." Daniels was ranked 79 on the annual Pink List of 100 influential gay and lesbian people in the United Kingdom, down from number 47 in 2006.

He is an amateur painter and a practitioner of Ashtanga yoga in his spare time. Daniels suffered with insomnia from a young age to his early twenties.
