Early life
Bleta Rexha was born in the Brooklyn borough of New York City on August 30, 1989, to parents of Albanian origin. Flamur Rexha's father was born in Debar, North Macedonia, when it was part of Yugoslavia, and emigrated to the United States at the age of 21. Bukurije Rexha, her mother, was born in the United States to an Albanian family with roots in Gostivar, North Macedonia. blet means "bee" in Albanian, and she explained, "My parents are Albanian, and people began to call me 'Bebe' for short." Career
Rexha began working with Fallout Boy's bassist Pete Wentz in 2010 and began recording with him in a New York City recording studio.
