Barbara Luddy (May 25, 1908 – April 1, 1979) was an American actress from Great Falls, Montana.

In the 1920s, her film career began with silent pictures, during which she became known as a prolific radio performer.

Personal life

On September 18, 1942, Luddy married R. Ned LeFevre, an actor and announcer. Barbara LeFevre, the couple's one daughter (1949-2013), and a son, Chris LeFevre, who died before Barbara.

Luddy died of lung cancer in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 70.

Career

Luddy performed in 1929 as part of a touring company that presented the play Lombardi, Ltd. A review in the Sydney Morning Herald cited Luddy's portrayal of a mannequin as "a role in which Miss Barbara Luddy was struck by her perceptiveness and vivaciousness."

Luddy was a performer in the Chicago Theatre of the Air's dazzling cast. 118 "Because" on television, one of Luddy's most well-known roles on radio was being a regular performer on The First Nighter Program from 1936 to 1953, she and fellow First Nighter actor Les Tremayne established "a precedent... when these actors started long-term contracts calling for their exclusive services" on the service.

In the comedy Great Gunns, she appeared as Veronica Gunn. 138 In soap operas, she appeared as Judith Clark in Lonely Women, 205-206 Carol Evans Martin of The Road of Life 285 and Janet Munson in Woman in White.

Luddy's film career began in the late 1920s with silent pictures. She is perhaps best known for her voice roles in Disney animated films like Lady and the Tramp (in which she appeared as the titular Lady), Sleeping Beauty, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Robin Hood, and Winnie the Pooh are among the Winnie-the-Pooh family films that were made into the complete story The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Terrified (1962) and the TV film Lost Flight (1969) are among her film credits.
