Early life

Bang Si-hyuk Career

Career

Bang began as a composer in college. He met Park Jin-young in the mid-1990s and the pair often worked as a team in songwriting. Bang joined Park as a composer, arranger, and producer when he established his firm JYP Entertainment. g.o.d. was one of the first-generation company's early successes. They were largely responsible for the release of g.o.d's debut album Chapter 1, with Park as the producer and primary songwriter, while Bang arranging the instrumentation and music. "One Candle" and "Road" are two of Bang's most popular songs arranged by him. Bang's stage name "Hitman" stems from this time, when the country's top-selling and most popular boy bands of the early 2000s thrived, earning himself and Park a reputation as "hit makers." Beyond g.o.d., Bang has produced or composed for many other artists, including veterans Im Chang-jung and Park Ji-yoon, singer-actor Rain, and R&B singer Baek Ji-young.

Bang left JYP Entertainment in 2005 and formed Big Hit Entertainment, where he continued to write, compose, and produce for Big Hit artists. He co-wrote six songs on BTS' critically acclaimed Wings (2016) album. Bang received the Mnet Asian Music Awards and the Songwriter Award at the Melon Music Awards this year, thanks to Wings' success. Due to BTS' success in June 2018, he was named one of Variety's International Music Leaders.

Bang's worth was estimated to be $770 million in April 2019. The BigHit IPO, which was the first public sale in South Korea in three years, increased Bang's net worth to $2.8 billion, making him the country's second richest person and the sixth richest individual. Bang's inception of the IPO, as well as BTS' commercial success, as well as the acquisitions of companies like Source Music and Pledis Entertainment, among others, included him on the annual list of the top business leaders in the global media industry.

Forbes Asia's annual list of Korea's 50 Most Influential People in June 2021. Bang was ranked as the 16th richest person in South Korea, one of only two newcomers to the list. Following a corporate shakedown, Hybe Corporation announced Bang's resigning as CEO of the company on July 1 to return the company's attention to music production. Park Ji-won was fired by Park Ji-won, but the Board of Directors' Chairman retained his position. Bang is expected to make $3.2 billion as of July 2021, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Bang was featured on the front page of the April 2022 issue of Time magazine, alongside BTS, following the unveiling of the outlet's annual list of the 100 Most Influential Companies in March—Hybe was listed on the list for the second year in a row and ranked in the top "Leaders" category. Later this month, he received an honorary doctorate in Business from Seoul National University (SNU) for his "contribution to the country's cultural and entertainment industry's growth and innovation" as well as his "role in turning K-pop into a global pop music style."

What's Going On Between HYBE and SM Entertainment?Let's Break Down the Drama

www.popsugar.co.uk, March 10, 2023
Over the past few years, HYBE has increased so much. The South Korean entertainment company, which was established as Big Hit Music in 2005, was the only artist to work with BTS for a long time. But as the company grew alongside BTS' success, it gave Big Hit a subsidiary name and began acquiring other Korean companies like Pledis Entertainment, Source Music, and, most recently, Hip Control, a hip-hop company. Despite being dominant so much of the music market, HYBE isn't done growing yet. HYBE has also been keeping an eye on SM Entertainment since August 2021. Nevertheless, the company's attempts to purchase a majority stake have met with some controversies. Why? I'll break it down for you.
