Balls Mahoney Life

Jonathan Rechner (April 11, 1972 – April 12, 2016,), better known by his ring name Balls Mahoney, was an American professional wrestler.

He is perhaps best known for his appearances with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), a three-time ECW Tag Team champion, as well as working for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) on the ECW's ECW Network (WWE) banner.

Mahoney last worked for American independent promotions.

Early life

Rechner was born in Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey. He began wrestling at the age of 15. He was a member of Manasquan High School, where he competed on the school's wrestling team.

Personal life

Christopher Rechner's uncle, Christopher Rechner, was born on November 15, 2007.

Rechner had several tattoos, including two tribal pieces, a dragon and inverted pentagram on his arm (he was a member of the Church of Satan), a tattoo dedicated to deceased wrestlers, and the namesake of his son Chris Candido. Rechner and Candido were childhood friends who got their start in the wrestling industry by mounting rings for local shows throughout their teenage years and then training at the Monster Factory together.

Rechner was charged with disorderly conduct after brandishing a knife during a staged brawl with fellow wrestler "Calypso" Jim Zaccone in South Brunswick, New Jersey, on August 21, 2010. The contest was supposed to generate buzz for a upcoming match in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.

Balls Mahoney Career

Professional wrestling career

Rechner debuted at the Monster Factory in 1987 as "Abbudah Singh," a term that was not understood at the time. In New Jersey, he began wrestling on the independent circuit.

In Smoky Mountain Wrestling, he bore Boo Bradley Jr. (a ripoff of the character Boo Radley from To Kill a Mockingbird). He was originally associated with Chris Candido and was managed by Tammy Sytch, who abused him for months, but the two eventually switched on him, murdering his pet dog and turning him into a fan favorite in the process. At this time, he began working with Cactus Jack. He continued to fight Candido and Sytch for a long time. He moved on to a feud with Killer Kyle of the Gangstas after his fights with Candido. During his time in SMW Bradley, he won the SMW Battle the Champ Television Championship twice.

He worked under his real name from 1992 to 1993, from 1992 to 1993. Virgil, Papa Shango, Marty Jannetty, and Virgil. As Xanta Klaus, he appeared briefly in the World Wrestling Federation in 1995. Seasons Beatings, December 5, Savio Vega and "Santa Claus" were on ringside, giving out gifts and telling the audience, while the fans, the audience's antagonistic boss, Ted DiBiase, appeared. Even Santa, DiBiase declared that everyone owed them, even Santa. "Santa" jumped him from behind and assaulted him as Vega debated DiBiase. This warped Santa Claus was introduced as Xanta Klaus by DiBiase, the South Pole who steals presents. Rechner, the Xanta, made only a few appearances (one on the following night's Monday Night Raw) before never being recognized again.

Rechner fought as Boo Bradley for the Mid Eastern Wrestling Federation, where he became the MEWF Mid-Atlantic Champion after WWF.

Rechner signed with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) in 1996. "Balls Mahoney" made his debut at Holiday Hell. Rechner was never seen without his signature steel chair, often with some sort of writing or symbol attached to it, which he'd use to bash any adversary at any time. He will be in the ring with AC/DC's "Big Balls" and lead the audience in singing the chorus before or after his matches. While in ECW, he partnered with Axl Rotten, a hardcore and aggressive wrestler, and the pair was dubbed "The Hardcore Chair Swingin' Freaks" informally. During their time, they rivaled with The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von).

Mahoney made his money-per-view debut in November to Remember, as part of the Tag Team Championship's four-Way Dance Competition, as well as his partner Rotten; The F.B.I. (Tracy Smothers and Little Guido) The titles were retained. They were involved in a three-way dance at Living Dangerously, as well as the Dudleyz in a losing effort to Spike Dudley and New Jack. Mahoney and Rotten were given another shot at the championships at Wrestlepalooza against Chris Candido and Lance Storm, but they fell short of winning.

Mahoney found a new partner in Masato Tanaka after struggling to win the titles with Rotten. The two met Dudley Boyz in the World Tag Team Championship in November, marking Mahoney's first appearance as a tag champion. Mahoney and Tanaka lost the championships to the Dudleyz in a rematch six days later. Mahoney and Rotten defeated the F.B.I. at Guilty as charged. Danny Doring and Roadkill are competing in a three-way dance.

Mahoney's first singles match at a pay-per-view was a win over Steve Corino at Living Dangerously. Mahoney formed a tag team with Spike Dudley just short of starting. The two teams met the Dudleyz in a championship match, but they were unable to win the title at Hardcore Heaven. Mahoney and Dudley won the match and the World Tag Team Championship, marking Mahoney's second personal appearance. The pair regained the title to the Dudleyz at a show in August.

Mahoney and Dudley defeated the Dudleyz in a second rematch on TNN's August 14 to win the World Tag Team Championship for the second time. They lost the titles to the Dudleyz again at The Last Show at the Madhouse on August 26, the last show at the Madhouse. Rob Van Dam, the ECW World Television Champion, was supposed to defend his title against Johnny Smith but Mahoney, Rotten, and Dudley thrashed Smith before the match, effectively ending the match and dismissing him out of the match. Mahoney then qualified for the title but lost the match.

Mahoney and Rotten lost to Da Baldies (Spanish Angel, Tony DeVito, Vito LoGrasso, and P. N. News) in a 4-on-2 handicap match at November to Remember.

Fans of ECW would often chant "Balls!" during an exchange of blows. As Rechner landed a punch or a kick on an opponent, they were "Nuts!" When his opponent retaliated, he was retaliated. He beat Kintaro Kanemura at Live Dangerously. In the first match at Hardcore Heaven, which Tanaka won, he met his former tag teammate, Masato Tanaka.

At Heat Wave, he lost a match against F.B.I. Sal E. Graziano, a member of Sal E. Graziano, is a student at the University of Sal E. Graziano. He formed a tag team with Chilly Willy and the two sides feuded with the Da Baldies. Mahoney and Willy defeated them in a Flaming Tables match at Anarchy Rulz, reminding them that they were defeated in a match to Remember in November. Mahoney lost to EZ Money at a Massacre on 34th Street.

Mahoney's last ECW appearance was at ECW's last pay-per-view Guilty as Charged, where Mahoney and Chilly Willy's match with Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger ended in a no contest.

Rechner spent time in a variety of independent federations across America, most notable USA Pro Wrestling (UXW) and Juggalo Championship Wrestling, where he joined With The Dead Pool 2000, most notably among ECW's (Violent J, Shaggy 2 Dope, and Raven). In 2004, he appeared in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), as a member of Teaming with The Sandman to face The Gathering. Ring Of Honor defeated Samoa Joe on January 9, 2004, losing to him.

Mahoney appeared at the World Wrestling Entertainment-promoted One Night Stand reunion show in 2005, along with Axl Rotten, the Sandman, the Dudley Boyz, and The Blue World Order as a result of the main event. Mahoney and Rotten returned to the ring to brawl with the "invading" Raw and SmackDown. The wrestlers were the subject of a fight.

He began to appear in vignettes discussing how tough he was, boosting his presence on the program as the show got going. On the edition of September 5 of ECW on Sci Fi Mahoney, Thorn and his valet Ariel engaged in a feud with Kevin Thorn after Thorn and his vain Ariel cost him a match against Stevie Richards, and René Duprée next week.

Francine was brought to ringside by the following week, marking her first television appearance at the revived ECW ring, where she and Ariel began to engage in a catfight. Francine was released shortly after, but the pair was short lived.

Mahoney defeated Matt Striker in a Striker's Rules match from December to Dismember.

Mahoney had one of his front teeth properly knocked out during a match with Kevin Thorn on January 2, 2007. Balls and Snitsky retaliated for a brief time shortly after.
