Bae Jin-young (born May 10, 2000) is a South Korean singer and a member of South Korean boy group CIX.

He was a former member of boy group Wanna One after finishing tenth in Produce 101 season 2 and active promotions for two years before the disbandment in January 2019.

Career

Bae Jin-young has been a trainee under C9 Entertainment for ten months.

Bae Jinyoung appeared on the South Korean boy band survival show Produce 101 season 2, which aired on Mnet from April 7 to June 16, 2017. Bae Jinyoung's PR-video of him doing his "Baebastic" introduction went viral shortly before the show aired. The first video of Bae's famous Aegyo set "ttak-tak" was first shown on the internet, and the PR-video is now the most watched PR-video out of all existing in the four seasons of Produce 101. Bae Jinyoung finished tenth in the final episode with 807,749 in-real time votes and thus gaining a spot in the project boy group Wanna One, which is run by YMC Entertainment. Bae officially debuted in Wanna One at Wanna One Premier Show-Con on August 7, 2017, at Gocheok Sky Dome with the EP mini-album 11=1 (To Be One). The venue is the first to be used for an idol-group's debut event, with the number of attendees expected to exceed 20,000.

Bae was lauded for his stage presence and rapid rise since competing in Produce 101 (season 2). With Wanna One, Bae received 100 of the company's greatest artistic and commercial awards, as well as endorsement of 25 other brands in numerous commercial films.

The group held "Therefore," the group's final concert, beginning on January 24 to the last show on January 27, 2019, where the group held its debut showcase. Bae Jinyoung's last appearance as a Wanna One participant was commemorated at the final concert.

Following Wanna One's disbandment, C9 Entertainment revealed on February 27 that Bae Jinyoung's 1st Asia fanmeet tour, "IM YOUNG," was announced. The tour took place at destinations in South Korea, Philippines, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Bae Jinyoung debuted as a soloist on April 26, his self-composed single album, Afraid.

Bae debuted as a central, face, and lead dancer of boy group CIX in July 2019, under his company C9 Entertainment's banner.

Bae Jinyoung was selected male lead in the WHYNOT Original Drama User Not Found competition on July 30, 2021. Shin Yi-jun, a well-known high schooler who seems to be fierce on the outside but is really delicate. In November 2021, the program will be broadcast.

Bae made his big screen debut in 2022 with the Thai-Singapore joint film The Antique Shop, which will be released on June 2, 2022.
