Austin Nichols Life

Austin Nichols (born April 24, 1980) is an American actor and producer best known for his role as Julian Baker in The CW drama series One Tree Hill.

He is also known for his appearances in The Day After Tomorrow and Wimbledon.

In the AMC horror drama series The Walking Dead, he appeared as John Monad in the HBO drama series John from Cincinnati and portrayed Spencer Monroe.

Early life

Nicholas was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and by his first birthday, he moved to Austin, Texas. He was named after the Austin Nichols distillery company, which is the makers of Wild Turkey bourbon. David Nichols, a radiologist, and his mother, Kay (née Vermeulen), was a trained trick water skier. Kay was a national champion ten times and an international champion once. Ashley is his older sister. Nichols was born near Lake Austin and attended Casis Elementary School. Nichols began competitive water skiing at the age of two. In 1997, he was on the United States junior water ski team, as well as the United States junior Olympic water skiing team. He ranked third in the world at age thirteen. Nichols had hoped to become a licensed water skier until he hurt his shoulder in Florida, and was forced to relinquish the sport. He played basketball at McCallum High School in Austin but was "completely awful." When Nichols was fifteen years old and began acting lessons, his curiosity was ignited. After high school, he came to Los Angeles.

Personal life

Nichols, who performed well, also has a keen interest in cinema. He has a log of every film he watches. "I take it to the movies and write down who makes the songs, edits, and directs, and how long the film is," Trump said. In a 2003 interview, Claire Oswalt, an ex-girlfriend, said that Nichols watches an average of 20 movies a week. Hal Ashby, Sam Fuller, and John Ford are all favorites of his.

He had been on and off with One Tree Hill co-star Sophia Bush from 2006 to 2012, and wanted to be closer to her. Chloe Bennet dated the actor from 2014 to 2017 after a meeting on the set of Marvel's Agents of Shield, where he played her ex-boyfriend Miles.

Since the two met on the set of The Day After Tomorrow in 2004, Nichols has been friends with actor Jake Gyllenhaal. "I've learned a ton from Jake," Nichols said in one interview. He's a really sharp guy. He told me everything about acting, the company, and life."

Austin Nichols Career

Acting career

He gate-crashed a party at the Sundance Film Festival and was signed by a manager. Nichols had intended to attend the University of Texas but after signing and enrolling at the University of Southern California, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, he moved to Los Angeles. Although Nichols appeared in Sliders, Odd Man Out, CSI: Family Justice, Watching Ellie, and Wolf Lake before his graduation, his biggest break came in 2002 when he appeared as Brenda Chenowith's lover in two episodes of Six Feet Under. He had appeared in two films before, Durango Kids in 1999 and Holiday in the Sun in 2001.

In his first critically acclaimed film role, Nichols played a stereotypical "frat boy" in The Utopian Society, a 2003 independent film directed by John P. Aguirre that received numerous awards and some critical acclaim. Nichols "transforms himself from a cardboard jock and frat boy caricature to a likeable vulnerable human being with surprising sensibilities," one commentator wrote. Nichols was praised as a "stellar talent" who was able to portray his character "with utter abandon to self ego," Aguirre said.

In 2004, Nichols was cast as J.D., an intelligent young boy and romantic rival to Jake Gyllenhaal's main character in The Day After Tomorrow's environmental blockbuster. The film received critical reviews, but it was still a box office hit. He appeared in Wimbledon again in 2004, opposite Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany. Critics loved the film, but it was only a modest success at the US box office. Jake Hammond, an arrogant tennis pro, was dubbed "effectively unlikeable" by Nichols' portrayal as "effectively unlikeable." Nichols had to learn tennis from scratch; he was taught to look professional by Pat Cash, who was taken aback by Nichols' talent. "It's absolutely as good as any on the circuit," Cash said. I swear to God. It's like a bullet. "He's our favorite pupil." Nichols and Bettany were able to have rallies and play points by the end of their training, but some of their more complicated conversations were computer generated.

Nichols had a small part in the 2005 film Thanks to Gravity, which was unveiled and panned. Nichols continued this with brief guest appearances on episodes of Pasadena and Surface before being cast in the popular 2006 film Glory Road. Glory Road, directed by James Gartner and starring Josh Lucas, is a film based on the 1966 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, in which Coach Don Haskins coached a team with an all-black starting lineup, the first in NCAA history. Nichols was one of the team's few white players; he trained hard for the position and learned basketball as it was played in the 1960s; "I'd never been sore in my life." The film earned $42.9 million at the box office and received mixed praise.

The House of Usher, directed by Hayley Cloake, and based on Edgar Allan Poe's story, was Nichols' next film. Roderick Usher, who Nichols described as a "twisted, terminally ill, fucked-up guy," appeared on Nichols. In September 2007, the House of Usher was introduced in Usher. In the short film Luz del mundo, Nichols also portrayed Neal Cassady with Will Estes as Jack Kerouac.

In April 2006, Nichols guest appeared in Deadwood, an HBO Western film. Nichols was signed to a HBO holding contract shortly afterward. Nichols was the lead in a new series, John From Cincinnati, a surfing drama created by David Milch, who also produced Deadwood, in August. In June 2007, the series premiered, but it was cancelled after one season due to poor ratings and mixed critical feedback. Nichols played John Monad, a stranger who appears in a quiet surfing town for the first time. Nichols learned surfing and trained every day for three months to be able to do so.

Nichols appeared in a few episodes of the NBC drama series Friday Night Lights in 2007, before being cast as Julian Baker in The CW's teen drama One Tree Hill. For the seventh season, he was upgraded to series regular. He directed two episodes of the ninth and final season, as well as the seventh episode of the ninth season and last season. Tommy Wheeler appeared in Showtime's Ray Donovan in 2013. Before being promoted to a series regular, Nichols appeared in AMC's horror film The Walking Dead. In the fifth and final season of A&E's drama-thriller series Bates Motel's thriller-thriller series Sam Loomis, he'll return as Sam Loomis.
