Aston Iain Merrygold (born 13 February 1988) is an English singer-songwriter, dancer, and television presenter.
He is best known for his role as a member of the British boy band JLS, who were runners-up to Alexandra Burke in the fifth season of The X Factor.
JLS ceased operations on December 22, 2013, after a successful five-years.

Early life
Merrygold was born on February 13, 1988 to a Jamaican father and an Irish mother, who separated when Merrygold was young. He is one of seven children, with five brothers and one sister between his biological and step parents. He was born and raised in Peterborough by his mother Siobhan and Orjan, where he attended Jack Hunt School. Merrygold said he loved to dance and perform, and that certain TV appearances attracted him to singing. He met future band member Marvin Humes while they remained in touch via auditions, and they stayed in touch. He played football for England in the European Youth Games while also attending secondary school.
Personal life
Merrygold is a fan of Arsenal F.C. Merrygold has numerous tattoos, including three actors behind his right ear, two actors on his pelvis, a musical note between his shoulder blades, and a sleeve made of a tattoo of Michael Jackson, whom he admires. Lisa Aston's close childhood friend, Lisa, died in a car crash in 2011. He got his face tattooed on his forearm as a tribute to his late friend.
Merrygold's partner, Sarah Louise Richards, had a baby in September 2017. She said that his pregnancy had inspired him to participate in Strictly Come Dancing. In December 2017, the couple announced their engagement. Richards gave birth to a boy named Grayson Jax on January 30, 2018. Career
In 2002, he appeared in Their Eyes, where he appeared as Michael Jackson, singing "Rockin' Robin" in "Rockin' Robin." He came in second place in second place. Merrygold began working as an entertainer at Pop Star Studios in Fletton Peterborough, shortly after, deciding not to pursue his musical career. Merrygold released the single "Reality" on May 5th, 2017. On May 27, 2017, Merrygold's guest appeared on The Playlist for the second time. Merrygold was announced as a contestant for the fifteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing in August 2017. He was partnered with professional dancer Janette Manrara and reached the seventh week of the competition, losing the dance to Mollie King and AJ Pritchard. In a newly launched TV commercial by Samsung promoting the Galaxy S9 smartphone in February 2018, Merrygold's 2015 single Get Stupid was included in a newly launched TV commercial. In July 2018, Merrygold was selected as Elvis Duran's Artist of the Month. Merrygold performed in the ITV singing competition The Masked Singer UK as Robin from 2020 to 2021; he came third place. Because Robin from DC Comics' real name is Dick Grayson and Merrygold's son's name is Grayson, he selected alias Robin.
