Art Hindle Career

Career

Hindle modeled clothing in catalogs for Canadian firms Simpsons-Sears and Eaton's before he became an actor. He was also a stockbroker.

Hindle has appeared in a long line of television shows in North America, and he has appeared in numerous films dating back to 1971.

The Proud Rider, his first major role, was spawned by the success of Easy Rider. Hindle worked with a real motorcycle crew, Satan's Choice of Oshawa. He nearly changed his professional name to Jeremy Kane during the film's making, as the producers felt that Hindle should have a more showbiz-sounding name.

Billy Duke was introduced as Billy Duke in the film Face-Off in 1971. This film triggered Hollywood interviews, but Hindle, who had four children by this time, migrated to Los Angeles in 1974.

In 1974, he appeared in the Canadian horror film Black Christmas. In the 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, he was instrumental in the creation of the body Snatchers. He went on to play lead in The Brood and appeared in Porky's 1981 teen sex comedy film. He appeared in Harry Dobbs' best-known Canadian television series, North of 60.

Art has also served as a producer in the early 1990s. He appeared and directed the award-winning series Paradise Falls, which appeared on cable television in the United States and on the Showcase channel in Canada.
