Ariya Daivari Career

Professional wrestling career

Ariya was educated in professional wrestling by his brother Shawn Daivari and fellow wrestler Arik Cannon after having a background in Tae Kwon Do and amateur wrestling during his high school years. He also trained with Shelton Benjamin and Ken Anderson, a former WWE wrestler. On September 26, 2006, Ariya performed in a Midwest Pro Wrestling Academy show at the First Avenue nightclub. Despite being a heel, he started wrestling for F1rst Wrestling in 2007. Ariya appeared in numerous American wrestling competitions, including Ring of Honor, Global Force Wrestling, and Impact Wrestling's India project, Ring Ka King, before his 2016 WWE debut. He defeated Arik Cannon and won the F1rst Wrestling Championship on January 15 in F1rst Wrestling Wrestlepalooza.

In 2013, Daivari's first contact with WWE was wrestling in a non-televised match for WWE SmackDown at the Target Center. He appeared in a tryout at the WWE Performance Center the next year. Daivari was confirmed as a contender in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic on June 13, 2016. In his first round match by Ho Ho Lun, Daivari was disqualified from the tournament on June 23, 2016. Daivari made his main roster debut on Raw as a heel on October 10, 2016, losing by default to Cruiserweight Champion T. J. Perkins. Daivari, along with Tony Nese and Drew Gulak, have united in a losing effort to Cedric Alexander, Lince Dorado, and Sin Cara on the Hell in a Cell pre-show. TJ Perkins, Rich Swann, and Noam Darl defeated Daivari, Nese, and Gulak on the Survivor Series pre-show. He began a feud with Gentleman Jack Gallagher, which culminated in a "I Forfeit" match, which he lost.

In July 2017, Daivari began his cruiserweight Championship quests. After Titus O'Neil forfeited their singles match the week before on Tozawa's behalf, Akira Tozawa called Daivari out on a rematch on July 24. Though Neville appeared to defend Tozawa, Daivari later appeared to threaten both Tozawa and Neville. On 205 Live, he faced Neville the next night and was able to win by count-out. Daivari, a 205 Live member, and Anthony Nese, Drew Gulak, and Noam Darby all joined Enzo Amore as the Cruiserweight Champion and became a member of Amore's heel team, "The Zo Train," alongside Anthony Nese, Drew Gulak, and Noam Darling. After reports of sexual assault were made public, WWE fired Enzo Amore, causing Amore to leave the Cruiserweight Championship and quietly disbanding "The Zo Train." Daivari participated in a tournament to crown a new Cruiserweight Champion, but the debuting Buddy Murphy was disqualified in the first round of 205 Live on February 6, 2018.

Ariya and his brother Shawn Daivari teamed up and insulted four Saudi Arabian prospects before being driven out by Mansoor in WWE Greatest Royal Rumble. Daivari returned from action to recover from an unspecified injury on November 28 of 205 Live, joining Hideo Itami in a match against a local competitor. He began accompanying Itami to his matches and intervening on his behalf. After losing to Akira Tozawa on the same day that Itami demanded his freedom from WWE, he turned on Itami on January 29 on 205 Live Daivari. Following a distraction from Oney Lorcan, Daivari defeated Cedric Alexander on the 23nd episode of 205 Live. Daivari defeated Lorcan on 205 Live on April 23 to become the top contender for the Cruiserweight Championship. However, he failed to win the title from Tony Nese at Money in the Bank. He was soon after discovering that he would feud with Oney Lorcan, resulting in a Nothing Goes match where he was defeated to bring an end to their feud.

He would begin a feud with Isaiah "Swerve" Scott in October 2019, but never defeated him. Around this time, he'll be wearing white pants and a Gucci belt to the ring. In 2020, he took a long absence from the sport and returned in August 2020, upset that new cruiserweights weren't treating him with respect. Curt Stallion and August Grey, who would later form an alliance with Tony Nese dubbed themselves the "205 Live OG's," and they would mostly be defeated by the likes of newcomers Curt Stallion and August Grey in the first few months of 2021. Daivari was released from his WWE contract on June 25, 2021.

Daivari was rehired by WWE as a producer in April 2022. He was released three months later.

On September 28, 2021, it was revealed that Daivari would be debuting for New Japan Pro Wrestling for their New Japan Showdown showdown, pitting Alex Zayne against El Phantasmo and Chris Bey against El Phantasmo and Chris Bey on Night 2 against El Phantasmo and Chris Bey. He will make his return to NJPW Strong on June 18, 2022, defeating Delirious and Delirious.

Daivari made his All Elite Wrestling debut on AEW Rampage on November 12, 2021, losing to Dante Martin. On the 2022 episode of AEW Dark, he would return to the brand, teaming With Invictus Khash, losing twice to Dark Order and once to fellow Minnesotans and F1rst Wrestling alumni Top Flight. In beating Caleb Konley, Ariya won his first match. He soon began to work with Ari Daivari and established the Trustbusters with Slim J & Parker Boudreaux. Ari's trust fund kicked him into being the richest person in AEW, in which he obtained Slim & Parker's employment. Ari was seen on a victory on the dark airing of August 9, where it was shown that it was trying to recruit Sonny Kiss.

Daivari & Slim J defeated Shinobi Shadow Squad at Ring of Honor before the 2022 Zero Hours show.

Daivari made his National Wrestling Alliance debut on April 16, 2022, defeating Nick Aldis in a losing fight. He has also won over Sal Rinauro & J Spade, the latter of which was also in a NWA World Junior Heavyweight Tournament.
