Personal life
April Campbell is married to Jamie Campbell and has one child from his time with Game Executive Joe LaCascia.
Telek claimed that she was assaulted by fashion mogul Peter Nygrd in 2020. She made the complaint right after Nygrd was accused of child sex trafficking. Telek told CBC's The Fifth Estate that she was asked to model a new line of Nygard's clothing in Winnipeg in November 1993. She said he assaulted her for oral sex after she arrived in Nygard's executive suite, and after she declined, he assaulted her several times in a two-day period. Nygard counsel Christopher Murphy denied any sexual assaults of any kind, according to lawyers for the plaintiffs, and two witnesses' statements contradicted Talek's allegations.
Early life and career
Telek was born and raised on Vancouver's North Shore. British Columbia's North Shore is a fictional town. She continued modelling work in Japan and gained a Shiseido Cosmetics contract for Asia from 1989 to 1990. In April 1994, she captured Miss Canada and represented Canada in several international pageants. She is best known for her role as Denise in George Lopez's Mr. Troop Mom.
At the Vancouver International Film Festival 2010 for her portrayal of Jana (loosely based on Lana Clarkson) in Amazon Falls, Telek received the coveted Women In Film and Television Award of Artistic Merit. In June 2011, she also received the Leo Award for Best Performance by a Female in a Leading Role for a Feature Film for Amazon Falls. She appeared in the video game Dead Rising 4 as a survivor in 2016.
