Anusha Dandekar (born 9 January 1982) is an Indian-Australian MTV VJ, actress and singer, who is best known as a VJ and a host who has hosted several shows.

Early life

Dandekar was born in Sudan on 9 January 1982 into a Marathi family of Shashidhar and Sulabha Dandekar, originally from Pune, India. She and her sisters, actress and model Shibani Dandekar and Apeksha Dandekar grew up in Kingsgrove, New South Wales, a suburb of Sydney, Australia.

Career

Dandekar, a 19-year-old boy, migrated to Mumbai, Maharashtra, to work in the entertainment industry. In MTV's House of Style, she was cast as an anchor. MTV Dance Crew, MTV Teen Diva, MTV News, and MTV Love School followed her on the network.

In 2008, she was named Best VJ at the Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Female Awards. Dandekar, a model-actress Lisa Haydon, is a judge on India's Next Top Model as of 2014.

Dandekar made her acting debut in Mumbai with Mumbai Matinee in 2003 and then went on to do Viruddh in 2005, alongside Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Sharmila Tagore, and John Abraham. In 2006, she received the Best Debut Award at the Maharashtra Times Awards for her role in the film. She went on to perform in Miss Bollywood's musical version. She appeared in Anthony Kaun Hai? later in 2006, she appeared in Anthony Kaun Hai? Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt appear alongside him. She made her Marathi film debut in Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha in 2012.

Dandekar made her debut with her single Better Than Your Experience in 2012. In June, the song was released in the English language.

Dandekar, a fashion icon, has appeared on Cosmopolitan, Elle, and Seventeen's pages. She has also endorsed Reebok, Toni & Guy, Crocs, and Lee Jeans.

In 2017, she became a mentor on India's Next Top Model, a show that is aired on MTV India.
