Career
When she appeared in a Jack Rosenthal play, Kirkbride was noticed by casting directors for Coronation Street, England. (1972) for Granada Television. She appeared on Coronation Street in November 1972 as part of the Deirdre Hunt. Kirkbride signed a deal with the serial in 1974, and the character's role expanded after further appearances in 1973.
