Career
Dudek appeared in various theatre productions and on Broadway from the mid-1990s (while at Northwestern University) to 2001. In 2000, she made her Broadway debut in Wrong Mountain. She received the Connecticut Critics Circle Award for her outstanding work in The Glass Menagerie.
She made the jump from Broadway to television after her Broadway debuts. When she first appeared on television as the lead in the British comedy drama The Book Group, she was in her first starring role on television. The show on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom attracted rave reviews. Dudek has since appeared on other TV shows, including 'Desperate Housewives (as Karl Mayer's daughter), How I Met Your Mother (as Mike Hannigan's daughter), Friends (as 'Precious', a mother who mistakenly shot her son), Numb3rs, and Six Feet Under.
