Mikaela Shiffrin, the most decorated American skier in history, added to her medal count as she won a gold medal in the Giant slalom at Meribel in the French Alps. On the Roc de Ferte course, Shiffrin came across the line first, just over a tenth of a second ahead of Italian skier Federica Brignone. The medal lifts her total number at FIS events up to 13 years, bringing her up to the top of any men's skier in history, putting her tied with Swedish women's skier Anja Parson, but only two total medals behind German Christl Cranz, bringing her total podium appearances.
