Early life
Angela Kristine Miller was born in Beverly, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston, on February 17, 1994. Guy Guy's father and mother, Tana, graduated from Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. After Guy attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton to prepare for ordination as a Christian minister, the couple migrated to Massachusetts. The Millers served at churches in Lynnfield and Cape Cod, where they spent eight years before becoming co-pastors at Remix Church, a member of the Assemblies of God protestant denomination in Salem. Jonathan Miller is also a Miller brother. He is two years older than she is. Exiting the Fall is a member of the hardcore band.
Doctors diagnosed the singer's left ear and 20 percent in her right at an early age, and that in her right, the protective envelope of her eardrums had vanished. Hence, she had ear tubes made and, a month before her American Idol audition, she had silicon spray ear plugs. Miller's illness has harmed her performing, hindering her from seeing her surroundings rather than herself. She said she learned to handle it a few years before her American Idol audition. When Miller finished her stint on the series in January 2013, she mother told The Salem News that a third surgery to skin graft her eardrum was imminent.
She was introduced to worship music at church and in other ways at home as a child. The Millers are a musical family: Guy plays the keyboard, Tana plays the guitar, and Jonathan plays several instruments. Miller began expressing her passion for singing and songwriting at an early age, composing her first effort, "Little Sparkle Dress" at age six. Her participation in the children's theatre fueled her enthusiasm for acting. After watching the second season finale, which made her long to participate in the competition herself, Miller became a huge fan of the singing competition television show American Idol. She started playing guitar but moved to piano after being taught by an instructor in Cape Cod. Despite never receiving formal vocal training, she refined her singing with criticisms from her mother and brother. Miller attended Beverly High School from 2008 to 2012, being involved with the school's choir, honors vocal ensemble, and the theatre program. She appeared in The Will Rogers Follies, My Fair Lady, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. She was a regular attender at her father's church as well as the act of leading music at services. She worked at a fast-food restaurant in Peabody during high school and ran a popular YouTube account where she posted videos of herself covering new hits. Miller came in seventh out of over 1,000 candidates in the female solo category at the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2011. She received scholarship offers from three Christian universities, including her top choice, Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. Miller did not accept any of the colleges' invitations and instead applied for American Idol after finishing her high school education.
Personal life
In early 2014, Miller moved to Los Angeles, California, to continue working as a professional musician. In late November 2015, she and her longtime boyfriend, David James Williams, became engaged. On July 7, 2016, the two married in a small Massachusetts wedding.
Music career
Miller auditioned for the twelfth season of American Idol in September 2012 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, where she won a golden ticket and advanced to the next stage in Hollywood. Miller performed "You Set Me Free" on the piano in the season's last Hollywood rounds, earning the judges' praise. She began as Angela and later adopted the moniker "Angie," which judge Keith Urban referred to her. Despite the judges' wishes, Miller went on to perform without her piano; during the Top 7 episode, she retreated to the piano for the duration. Miller, despite the series's length, dominated social media relative to her peers, and was chastised for her resemblance to singer Miley Cyrus.
Miller was often ranked in the top ranks of the voting and was named the season's sole contestant to not land in the bottom 2 or 3 until her departure in the Top 3; often in the top five ranks and often placing in the top tiers. Journalists characterized Kree Harrison's victory as "shocking" and "surprising" -- the decision was attributed to Middle America's vote and pity votes prompted by her homecoming video. Kevin Rutherford of Billboard, on the other hand, said the singer's demise was due to her inability to match the accolades of her "You Set Me Free" appearances. Others attributed her decision to perform Elton John's "Sorry Seems to Be the Worst Word" without actually playing the song on the piano. Miller relived her version Dixon's "Never Gone" in tears, at times unable to perform, and later approached by her family onstage. Following the elimination, she expressed indignation at the results, but said that both finalists deserved the position in the finale.
Miller, who was kicked out of American Idol, has announced plans to start a music career as soon as possible, as well as a potential acting career. Miller confessed to either writing or co-writing all material for her debut studio album. She also wanted to expose all sides of her personality in a more sophisticated and artistic manner that she believes current mainstream music largely lacks. She further explained,
Miller, Candice Glover, and Harrison recorded background vocals on a song for judge Mariah Carey's fourteenth studio album, but it's yet to be announced whether or not it will be included in the final track list. Miller's debut single "You Set Me Free" was released to digital retailers on May 17, 2013, as a result of the series's conclusion. 19 Recordings' Idol contract, Miller, released her debut single "You Set Me Free" on May 17, 2013. Miller had signed a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) on May 22, 2013 and is looking for a record contract. Miller revealed in June 2013 that she was co-writing with Toby Gad, Autumn Rowe, David Hodges, Adam Watts, and his Red Decibel team, as well as live demos in Los Angeles, California, on social media. Miller and the remainder of the Top 11 from season 12, as well as the rest of the Top 11, joined the American Idols LIVE! She appeared on original music from July to August 2013, and this tour was the third time she performed original music. Later that year, she appeared with Jessie J at a concert in the United Kingdom devoted to her Nice to Meet You Tour.

She made her first music video for the album "Simple," the EP's only single. She travelled to Kolkata, India, in September 2015, to appear in many small concerts around the region.
Miller revealed in February 2016 that her new music, which she had begun writing in early 2015, would be released under the name Zealyn.
