On Saturday, the 22-year-old (bottom right, inset) became the first transgender woman to be crowned Miss Netherlands, but behind that smiling face is someone who knows better than anyone what it is like to feel alone. Becoming a woman was 'not for everybody,' and Ms Kolle admits she suffered a lot from it. Ms Kolle was so determined to become a girl that she changed her name from Rikkie to Rikkie at the age of just 11, claiming she was "born in the wrong body." However, she was also subjected to years of bullying, which culminated in her absence from school and cries every day.
