Andy C Career

Music career

Andy C was a DJ in his own right, but he gained a following and more bookings off the back of his debut "Valley of the Shadows" album, a young drum and bass band that walked the line between hardcore and bass and drum and bass, right as the genres were beginning to fade. Origin Unknown (made up of Andy C and Ant Miles) and "Long Dark Tunnel" (often referred to as "31 Seconds) or "Long Dark Tunnel" because of the samples included, the track was made to produce a robust, easy to recognize track that was popular, easy to mix track that became a hit at raves around the UK and elsewhere. The song was released as an EP in 1993 and has been remixed and re-released several times, and it is widely recognized as one of the early 1990s' most popular drum and bass tunes. With his signature look (Andy C is rare without a baseball cap) and his lively movements behind the decks when playing make him a well-known figure.

He collaborated with Shimon on the single "Body Rock," which debuted at number 28 on the UK Singles Chart in January 2002 and became one of the year's most popular drum and bass hits. Nonetheless, it polarized some followers of the genre due to its unusual music; it also used a swinging rhythm and "clownish" synthesizer leads, triggering the use of the phrase "clownstep" to refer to similar tracks that were released in the wake of its popularity.

Andy C has continued to release good selling records on his own Ram Records throughout his career, and has gained acclaim both as a producer and as a DJ. Ram Records has been able to recruit and nurture other artists of high reputation, including Chase & Status, Loadstar, Sub Focus, and Wilkinson, thanks to its success as a label. Andy has secured headline acts and their own stage at major venues such as Creamfields, Global Gathering, The Sunbeat Festival, and The Electric Daisy Carnival, showcasing their brand and DJ talents.

Andy C won the Best DJ award in the 2011 Drum & Bass Arena Awards, and since the awards' inception in 2009, he has received the People's vote in the People's Choice Awards for Best DJ each year. He specializes in fast mixing, often using three turntables. Andy's signature mixing technique is called the "Double Drop": lining up two tunes so that both basslines drop at the same time. Andy C has often arranged functions for six hours. Mixmag UK revealed the results of a 14-month worldwide poll by 35 names of dance music, including Andy C, who ranked number four on the list and the highest British DJ on the list in January 2011. He is the only DJ to win more than 20 annual 'Best DJ' awards in any genre.

Andy C Alive, Andy C Alive's first product, where he mixes audio and pictures, resulting in spectacular light and laser shows. The three deck mixing desks, audio and image editing suites, and a system that allows Andy to program content on a fly are at the center of the scheme. These sets must be made specifically for each venue, and Andy C has already had reservations at SXSW in Texas, Beyond Wonderland in California, Vooruit in Gent Belgium and Melkweg, as well as Brixton Academy and Cambridge Junction.

Andy C's talent as a producer and a DJ has earned him a lot of attention from his peers, web pages, as a cultural influence and inspiration by some of the best drum and bass players in the country; his style has differed, as shown by LTJ Bukem's Good Looking Records, Goldie's Metalheadz, and jump up parties like JungleMania and Desire 2000AD. Inductee DJ Craze to the DMC World DJ Championships The Hall of Fame Inductee DJ Craze says Andy Craze is his favorite DJ to hear perform drums and bass.

On November 3rd, 2013, he released "Haunting / Workout," his first single in ten years, as a promotional double A-side from the Nightlife 6 compilation. It debuted at number 188 on the UK Singles Chart, earning it the 188th position in the UK Singles Chart. In November 2014, his next single, "Heartbeat Loud" (with Fiora), was released and debuted at number 50 on the UK Singles Chart.

Andy C was the author of the 'New Era' and 'What Bass?' Both 2016 and 2017 were compared to previous years. He appeared at a number of major festivals in 2017.

Andy C sold out Wembley Arena in three days in 2018, becoming the first Drum and Bass artist to do so.

Andy Clegg released the singles 'Till Dawn' (which had been in his sets since 2015) and 'Back & Forth' in 2019. He has also toured extensively and headlined several festivals throughout the year.
