After CPS took custody of the teen in the midst of her husband's child violence lawsuit, teen Jenelle Evans' son Jace, 14, has been reunited with father after 13 years

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 31, 2024
Jace, the son of teen mom Jenelle Evans, has been reunited with his father Andrew Lewis for the first time in 13 years. According to the United States Sun, the 14-year-old met with his dad, 38, for the first time since he was a baby on MTV's 16 And Pregnant. The reunion comes after CPS took custody of the teen after he has run away from home several times, and after his stepfather and Jenelle's, 32, husband, David Eason, was accused of physically assaulting him.

According to the lawsuit, a wealthy Wyoming ranching family ran a $6,000-a-month child labor camp where struggling teenagers were starving or dead if they didn't shovel manure, feed animals, or load hay quickly enough

The Triangle Cross Ranch is facing allegations that it exposed troubled teenagers to 'child labour' and human trafficking, including urinating in jugs and coerced labor without food or sleep. In addition to involving shoveling manure and suffering 'near daily' flash burns from welding, the charges were brought out in a 10-day lawsuit brought by former residents at the ranch, Andrew Lewis and Andrew Unruh. Other former participants abused the ranch, including branding with hot metal and taking a baby's mattress because he refused to stick a pitchfork through a dying calf's chest. The ranch denied the allegations and said that no harsh treatment the boys received was paid for with the help of their parents, who paid thousands of dollars for their sons to attend. 'Participants in the program are enrolled with the consent of their parents or guardians who are notified of the program's rigors and the types of ranch chores that their sons will have to do,' the ranch said in a counter-filing on Friday.

After public drug use is recriminalized, progressive Seattle activists take over a city council meeting with cries of 'You have blood on your hands.'

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 20, 2023
Activists protested outrage on Tuesday night after the Seattle City Council passed a motion to make opioid use and use a gross misdemeanor in the city, where soaring heroin and homeless rates have risen. Proponents of the city's laissez-faire legislation expressed their dissatisfaction with the 6-3 election, which they refer to as the 'War on Drugs 2.0.' In a video shared by journalist Jon Choe, crowd members are seen yelling at the council members following the vote.'You have blood on your hands.' Although the law encourages police to prioritize diversion rather than charges, those in breach could face up to 180 days in prison and a fine of up to $1,000. The Emerald City has grown to become one of the country's biggest homelessness and heroin problems, which have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a recent survey, almost 50,000 people had left Seattle over the past six months as a result of safety issues. Adults in the area also said they felt compelled to relocate due to their fears.
