Andrew Craig Career

Mixed martial arts career

Craig made his professional debut in May 2010 when he defeated USA MMA in their first fight by unanimous decision. At Bellator 27, he defeated Rodrigo Pinheiro in his second fight. Craig prevailed after the cageside doctor found Pinheiro unable to continue. Craig competed in two fights under the International Xtreme Fight Association's banner before deciding with the Texas-based Legacy Fighting Championships.

Craig made his Legacy Fighting Championships debut against William Bush for the Legacy Fighting middleweight title on April 9, 2011. Craig won the fight via TKO in the fifth and final round.

Craig was supposed to make his first title defense at Legacy Fighting 8 against Bellator and WEC veteran Eric Schambari. However, Schambari weighed in past the middleweight cut, and the match became a three-round non-title match. Craig was convicted by a unanimous vote and was crowned champion of the match.

Craig made his UFC debut against Australia's Kyle Noke on March 3, 2012 as an injury substitute for Jared Hamman. Despite losing the first round, Craig came back to dominate the second and third rounds, winning unanimously.

Craig defeated Rafael Natal on July 11, 2012 at UFC on Fuel TV: Munoz vs. Weidman. Craig landed a head kick to gain a comeback victory after being rattled and controlled for the majority of the second round.

Craig faced Ronny Markes at UFC on FX 7 on January 19, 2013. He was disqualified in the fight by unanimous decision. It was the first time he had been defeated in his professional career.

Craig defeated former WEC Middleweight Champion Chris Leben by a split decision on July 6, 2013 at UFC 162.

Craig took on English fighter Luke Barnatt in his next outing at UFC Fight Night 30 on October 26, 2013. In the second round, he was disqualified by submission. Despite the loss on his record, Craig received his first Fight of the Night bonus award.

Craig was set to face Chris Camozzi at UFC Fight Night 39 on April 11, 2014. However, the match was called off on the day of the weigh-ins because Craig was declared out of the contest due to a gastrointestinal disorder.

On June 28, 2014, Craig faced Cezar Ferreira at UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Stephens. He lost the fight on unanimous decision.

Craig was supposed to face Edgar Garcia in a welterweight match at UFC Fight Night 71 on July 15, 2015. Garcia was however forced to leave the fight due to injury and to recruit newcomer Lyman Good.
