Andreas Johnson Career

Career

Andreas Johnson was always surrounded by music in his youth, as both his parents were professional jazz musicians. He became familiar with late-night gigs and the constant commute associated with performances during this period in his life, as well as visiting his parents on the road regularly. Johnson started his musical career as the singer in Planet Waves, a band that only had one album, Brutal Awakenings, before dissolving due to internal conflicts. He then moved to a solo career, releasing Cottonfish Tales, his debut album.

He made his international debut with the single "Glorious," which later appeared on the album Liebling, and has been used in a number of commercials including Volvo, Nutella, and Vauxhall. In a commercial for the American TBS station, the song "People" was also used.

Deadly Happy, his third solo album, was released in 2002. Mr Johnson's Room Is On Fire, Warner Music's next album, was released in 2005. Johnson performed in Melodifestivalen 2006, the Swedish song selection competition for the Eurovision Song Contest, and finished third in the final round.

Johnson performed in Melodifestivalen 2007, performing "A Little Bit of Love," which was announced as a finalist in the competition. The song came second in Melodifestivalen 2007, losing to "The Worrying Kind" by The Ark's Sarah.

Johnson was involved in the 2nd semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2008, as well as Carola Häggkvist who had previously performed music at Melodifestivalen in 1983, 1991, and 2006. The pair performed One Love, had a'second shot,' but lost against Nordman.

Johnson performed with the song "We Can Work It Out" at Melodifestivalen 2010 and finished sixth in the final. He appeared in Melodifestivalen 2012, where he performed his song "Lovelight" in the third semi-final and then moved to the Second Chance, where he lost the quarter-final duel.

He appeared again in Melodifestivalen 2015 with the title Living to Die, where he was disqualified in the semi-finals.

The song "Army of Us" was performed at Melodifestivalen 2019. In Andra Chansen, he was forced to leave after losing his duel.
