She continued working as a nurse in a hospital's intensive care and oncology departments during this time. After producer Eugen Römer obtained a cassette with recordings of hers, her musical career began in 1992. He was enthused by her voice, and within a week, the first tracks for her debut studio album "You Are Free" ("Kilimandjaro") and "Look Me in the Face Again" ("Look Me in the Face Once More") were released ("You Are Free"), which featured the singles "Kilimandjaro") and "Look Me in the Face Once More" ("Look Me in the Face). Römer's second studio album, "Feelings," was also released, which was her first commercial success. The singles from the album, "Wenn du mir willst, dann küß mich doch") and "Einmal nur mit dir alleine" were hits. "Die Gefühle haben Schweigepflicht" was also included on the album, one of her most popular songs.
